BETSY JOHNSON always seems to have something new a different to her fashion shows. We all know she's strange and loves pink. This time around she chose a cosmetic color palette of light pink and metallic for a glamorous robot look. The eyes were created with Stila Magnificent Metals Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Metallic Lavender, Major Major Lash Mascara and Stay All Day Waterproof Brow Color. The fake eyelashes were cut at the curve to create a straight doll-like illusion. She captured this strange barbie look. The photo slide show is titled, "Futuristic Fembots Backstage at Betsy Johnson." Eye shadow was also used on the lips. Convertible Color cream blush in Sweet Pea was used on the cheeks for a "sexy and girly" appeal. This color was used to balance out the bubble-gum color from the wig. She somehow accomplished this creepy look to also be absolutely gorgeous and compelling. Before all the make-up, the "models’ faces were prepped with Intraceuticals oxygen facials, which are designed to plump skin with lowmolecular-weight hyaluronic acid." This trick creates and glowing base for the make up. Danielle Candido called the manicure a "futuristic ombre." The glow also looks a bit shiny, which could help with the doll-like goal. The wigs are unnatural and the models look like they may have been electrocuted, which is interesting because they are meant to resemble robots. All in all, the cosmetic designs were fun and different, but Betsy Johnson was still able to capture the beauty amongst the chaos.
