Example of fuel bug

FCC is a complete fuel conditioner providing comprehensive protection of the fuel system which results in a clean fuel system with reductions in running and maintenance costs. product applications • FCC treats petrol, diesel, gasoil, two stroke BIO-FUELS & heating oil. • Great for engines of any size and type, including motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks, rolling stock and boats of all shapes and sizes. Use will not void the engine’s warranty. • Used in agricultural equipment and in construction. • Perfect for marine use in boats of any size. • Use it in your lawnmower or domestic / commercial oil tank, to help boilers, generators, stand-by generators etc. • Especially useful for holding tanks and engines or tanks that are laid-up over winter, when much condensation forms.

easy to use • Can be used to treat fuel in a holding tank, or directly into the equipment itself. • Ideally, to mix well, treat with FCC before fuel is added • Use at the economical dose rate of 4,000:1 • For smaller quantities use the CAP on the bottle to measure accurately. • Double the dose on first application. • Use regularly – each time you fill up. • You cannot overdose with FCC

Fuel Bug- the problem Blocked filters, stuck injectors, internal corrosion, reduced horsepower and even engine failure can be caused by a microscopic fungus, Hormoconis resinae, which is present to varying extents in all diesels. This fungus commonly known as the “fuel bug” thrives in fuel storage tanks using the hydrocarbons in the fuel as a food source and dissolved oxygen in the water for respiration. Hydrocarbons and dissolved oxygen encourage growth with each fungal cell dividing every 20 minutes. As older fungi die their bodies form a slime that floats up into the fuel, quickly clogging filters and narrowing fuel lines. Sludge adhering to the fuel lines and tank walls produces corrosive hydrogen sulphide which causes metal defects in fuel system components and pitting of the injectors. A unique Rust inhibitor protects from corrosion. Microbial growth can be prevented by eliminating water from the fuel tanks and ensuring they stay uncontaminated. Biocide treatment on the other hand will kill any bacterial and fungal growth but creates a sudden mass of dead cells which only adds to the problem.

costs / benefits In addition to the intangible benefits to FCC such as reduction in emissions, extension of filter life and reduction in downtime, FCC field tests in Europe, Canada, Australia and Malaysia have all indicated significant savings on fuel, which far outweigh the cost of purchase of the product

naturally safe FCC is pH neutral and contains no hydrocarbons, sulphur, phosphorous, nitrogen or metallic ingredients. It is nontoxic, non-hazardous and non-flammable. Under normal conditions of combustion it will burn to form CO2 (carbon dioxide) and H2O (water). Used in hydrocarbon and Bio-fuels it causes the fuel to burn more efficiently, thereby reducing harmful emissions.

effect on emissions with FCC Nitrous oxides: No effect Carbon emissions: FCC will significantly reduce HC ( unburnt hydrocarbons) Carbon monoxide: CO will reduce as the cleaner burn means that a higher conversion to CO2 will occur in the combustion chamber rather than in the atmosphere. CO2 will increase due to the reduction in CO Sulphur: FCC will not allow sulphur to form sulphurous acids.

This has a less detrimental effect on the environment

Vanadium molten deposits Corrosion initiates from the Vanadium in the fuel which forms a low melt glaze during combustion with other metals in the fuel like sodium, aluminium, iron, as well as sulfur and oxygen. These low melt glasslike compounds not only corrode equipment but prevent heat transfer to water in tubes. Additionally these low-melt compounds form a hard glaze when they cool that make cleaning very difficult. These corrosive vanadium compounds reduce efficiency in heat transfer, resulting in lost BTU's and a more costly power output. Treating Vanadium deposits Testing results using FCC-V has evidenced that at the correct dosage and specifications, this corrosion can be prevented. FCC-V creates a vanadium compound during combustion that has a higher melting point and is noncorrosive, giving a more complete combustion and eliminate the black smoke from exiting the stacks and thereby lead to less toxic environmental emissions, greater and more effective and efficient fuel and plant operations

B.A.R.C. BITUMEN & ASPHALT REMOVER & CLEANER New technology allows low volatility products derived from alternative sustainable sources to produce superior results without the traditionally accepted risks. This technology is now available to address the environmental issues surrounding the removal of bitumen and asphalt

how it works BARC has a similar molecular structure to bitumen, resulting in the rapid penetration of the bitumen down to the adhered surface. Spreading itself between the bitumen and the surface it effectively lifts the bitumen from the surface. Holding the particles in solution allows them to be removed to waste or can be separated, allowing the Bitumen to be recycled Being chemically similar allows the bitumen to dissolve in the BARC. Once rinsed off it leaves behind a film that makes for easier subsequent cleaning. As a direct superior replacement for Kerosene/diesel it not only speeds up the whole cleaning action, it makes it easier the next time around too and so making effective savings in labour and downtime

technical specifications Derived primarily from natural edible plant oils, and are free of VOC and the customary traditional solvents MSDS available on request

product applications

naturally safe

Formulated specifically to remove Bitumen and Asphalt.

Performance exceeds the effectiveness of hydrocarbon based bitumen and asphalt removers. The main difference being that BARC’s solvents are derived from edible plant oils and are regarded by many of its users as the best in its class. Non Toxic, Hydrocarbon Free. Non Caustic, Non Flammable, Bio-degradable, environmentally friendly, Non carcinogenic Microbial action effectively reduces the waste to a non polluting product

To be used on all Equipment associated with the application of bitumen and asphalt Also removes bitumen from concrete, paving’s, kerbs and brick Workshop floors and bench tops. Can be used for coating as well as cleaning equipment

easy to use Best results have been achieved once dust and mud have been removed and the surface allowed to dry. Then 1) apply BARC with a hand held pressure sprayer and allow to penetrate for 15 to 20 minutes. 2) Rinse off with a high pressure spray preferably using hot water. 3) Heavily encrusted areas may need a second application to allow BARC to penetrate fully.

Product Data Sheet Anti-Spatter Always read entire label before using product

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec Anti-Spatter will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface. • It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the application of Anti-Spatter will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying Anti-Spatter at all.

APPLICATION: • Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation. • Apply product sparingly, using the hand spray bottle. Spray over area to be protected. In most cases one pump of the hand sprayer containing Lanotec Anti-Spatter will be sufficient to protect the area coated. • When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coat evenly from one side to the other. • When coating vertical surfaces, always start at the top and work down using the same misting technique. • Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required. • A light spray over the work and/or jig will prevent welding spatter sticking to the surface. A simple wipe with a cloth or rub with a wire brush will remove all spatter. • Anti-Spatter may be pre-applied to parts and will act as a rust preventative as long as the product is not cleaned off the parts. • Application of Lanotec Anti-Spatter to gloves and aprons will dramatically increase the life of both.

REMOVAL: • Where removal is necessary any strong solvent will remove Lanotec Anti-Spatter. • Lanotec recommends the use of Lanotec Citra-Force or Lanotec PowaWash. • Does not require removal for products to be galvanised. It is removed in the galvanising process.

Product Data Sheet General Purpose Liquid Lanolin Always read entire label before using product

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec General Purpose will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface. • It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the application of General Purpose will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying General Purpose at all. • Remove sources of ignitions, voltage and flame before use. • Lanotec General Purpose is soluble in oil, and therefore light oils on machined parts do not need to be removed before lubricating. • Where short term mothballing of equipment is the ultimate aim, a good clean with a powerful degreaser before application of Lanotec General Purpose will give best results. Lanotec recommends Lanotec PowaWash or Lanotec Citra-Force.

APPLICATION: • Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation. • Lanotec General Purpose can be applied via spray, brush, roller or lambs wool applicator. • Lanotec provides a 750ml trigger bottle and a 1.5L pump up pressurised sprayer, for small to medium coating jobs. For larger jobs recommended application is via a pump-up garden-type sprayer with Viton seals. • Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required. If overapplied the coating will become tacky, and debris will stick to it. High pressure water blasting will remove the debris and leave the Lanotec General Purpose behind. • When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coat evenly from one side to the other. • When the surface looks wet, you have applied enough product. • Allow one hour drying time before putting equipment to use. • If dust adhesion is undesirable, Lanotec General Purpose can be buffed to stop dust adhering. Dust and dirt adhesion is only to the protective coating, and when coating is removed equipment will revert back to original appearance.

REAPPLICATION: • Reapplication is recommended every 3 months or when further lubrication is required. Reapplication is not required if stored out of direct sunlight (i.e. in a warehouse). • Visual inspection is recommended daily until a suitable service interval has been identified. Reapply where required during service intervals. • Wipe dirt and dust away from surface. • Reapply as per application instructions above.

Product Data Sheet Heavy Duty Liquid Lanolin Always read entire label before using product

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec Heavy Duty will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface. • It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the application of Heavy Duty will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying Heavy Duty at all. • Remove sources of ignitions, voltage and flame before use. • Lanotec Heavy Duty is soluble in oil, and therefore light oils on machined parts do not need to be removed before lubricating.

APPLICATION: • Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation. • Lanotec Heavy Duty can be applied via spray, brush, roller or lambs wool applicator. • Lanotec provides a 750ml trigger bottle and a 1.5L pump up pressurised sprayer, for small to medium lubrication jobs. For larger jobs recommended application is via a pump-up garden-type sprayer with Viton seals. • When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object and apply to area requiring lubricating or protecting. • For chains spray onto chain for one rotation only. Additional rotations will result in a waxy build up. • For wire ropes, spray on, then rotate rope 180° and spray other side; or submerge in a bath of Lanotec Heavy Duty. • Allow one hour drying time before putting equipment to use. • If dust adhesion is undesirable, Lanotec Heavy Duty can be buffed to stop dust adhering. Dust and dirt adhesion is only to the protective coating, and when coating is removed equipment will revert back to original appearance.

REAPPLICATION: • Visual inspection is recommended daily until a suitable service interval has been identified. Reapply where required during service intervals. • On average, Lanotec Heavy Duty needs to be applied half as often as petroleum based lubricants. • Wipe dirt and dust away from surface. • Reapply as per application instructions above.

Product Data Sheet Release Agent Always read entire label before using product

PREPARATION:

• Shake or stir Lanotec Release Agent concentrate to consistency before mixing with water • Add concentrate to container then add water to achieve your desired dilution rate • High quality sprayer recommended (Chapin brand or similar) • For best results apply to a clean dry surface

APPLICATION: • Apply a fine even coat with quality sprayer

Tilt Panel • When using as a bond breaker, apply to the top of cured panel in 2 even diagonal opposing coats. In extreme heat, the panels can be sprayed with water before Lanotec Release Agent is applied, this reduces the amount of Release Agent absorbed by the cured panel • If it rains after application, feel for waxy surface and judge if further application is required

Formwork • Continued use on formwork leaves surface clean after stripping; no cleaning required between pours, simply spray, pour, strip and repeat • For best results, apply to the horizontal before erection (steel & aluminium) where practical

Precast • Non staining for coloured concrete • Can be applied after setting polystyrene block outs (does not affect polystyrene) • If mopping the finish, use a new clean mop pre soaked in Lanotec Release Agent • Safe for fibreglass, PVC, polypropylene and rubber moulds • High performance for bullnose moulds • Flush sprayer with water only

COATINGS: • Lanotec Release Agent degrades in the curing process of concrete • If Lanotec Release Agent is used to manufacturer specifications, chemical cleaning of the concrete is not required before applying a coating system. High pressure water blast is all that is required for best results • Adhesion testing as per AS 1580.408 indicates that Lanotec Release Agent did not cause adhesion failure of the coating systems at the coating/concrete interface of coating systems to the cured concrete. Product Data Sheet Timber Seal Always read entire label before using product PREPARATION: • All new (green) timber structures should be allowed to settle for a minimum of 3 months before applying any coating system. If treated before this, there is a risk of resins and tannins rising to the surface, causing black spots. • If the timber is freshly milled or “green”, only apply inside joints and on bolts and fastenings. Allow timber to weather further before applying Timber Seal. • Previously untreated timber should be treated against mould and/or fungus spores (use any broad spectrum agent) before applying Timber Seal. • High levels of tannin and oily resins or high moisture content in the timber will affect the penetration rate of Timber Seal which can lead to a poor finish of the coated surface. It is important that the timber is clean and dry before applying Timber Seal. • Can be used on timber previously coated with decking oil. Timber must be showing signs of dryness before applying Timber Seal. • If the timber has turned grey due to weathering, sand surface lightly and clean thoroughly before applying Timber Seal. To restore colour without sanding, see below in regards to using tint. • Ensure timber is dry, and free of dirt & dust before applying Lanotec Timber Seal - High pressure clean then leave 24 hours to dry. dry time

APPLICATION: • Refer to coverage guide. Measure area of timber to be protected. Only use the recommended volume of product. Over application will cause tackiness on the surface of the timber.

Citra-Force

• Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation.

• For decking surfaces and other dressed timber, Timber Seal is best applied by spraying via a garden type sprayer. A flat lamb’s wool applicator may be used to evenly spread the applied product. For the underside of external decking and structural timbers, apply by spray, preferably prior to construction. • The final coat of exposed dressed timber surface can be polished/buffed to the natural wax to remove residue, maximise the protective seal and to highlight the natural grains. • 6 hours drying time is recommended. • Lanotec Timber Seal is compatible with most oil based tints, if the timber is dry it will accept a tint mixed into the Timber Seal at a rate of 2.5% (25ml per 1L). However it is advisable to conduct a penetration test with an off-cut or in an inconspicuous area first. • Timber Seal is not compatible with acrylic water based products. • For best results use Lanotec Type A Grease on end grains; and all fasteners - to lubricate the fastener, and to seal the hole.

Product Data Sheet Timber Seal Always read entire label before using product REAPPLICATION: • A simple water test should be carried out on previously treated structure. If the water beads, the timber is still protected. If the water is absorbed, reapplication is required. • Typically an annual reapplication is all that is required; although two applications is recommended in the first 12 months, to ensure adequate build up below the surface of the timber (as lanolin has an accumulative effect).

CLEANUP & CLEANING: • Use Lanotec Citra-Force or mineral turps. For cleaning decks use warm soapy water. • If Timber Seal is over applied resulting in a tacky surface, the excess can be cleaned off using a solvent or degreaser. Lanotec Citra-Force at 1:10 parts luke warm water is ideal for this purpose.

Product Data Sheet Timber Seal PLUS Always read entire label before using product PREPARATION: • Previously untreated timber must be treated against mould and/or fungus spores (use any broad spectrum agent) before applying Timber Seal PLUS. • If the timber is freshly milled or “green”, only apply inside joints and on bolts and fastenings. Allow timber to weather further before applying Timber Seal PLUS. • Can be used on timber previously coated with decking oil. Timber must be showing signs of dryness before applying Timber Seal PLUS. • If the timber has turned grey due to weathering, sand surface lightly and clean thoroughly before applying Timber Seal PLUS. To restore colour without sanding, see below in regards to using tint. • The moisture content of the timber will also affect the rate of absorption, which can lead to a patchy colouring of the timber. High levels of tannin and oil resins can also lead to this effect. Therefore it is important that the timber is as clean and dry as reasonably possible before applying Timber Seal PLUS.

APPLICATION GUIDE: • Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation. • Refer to coverage guide. Measure area of timber to be protected. Only use the recommended volume of product. Over application will cause tackiness on the surface of the timber. • All timbers are different and display differing rates of absorption, i.e. hardwoods are less absorbent than softwood such as pine. This should be taken into consideration when determining coverage rate. • For the best results Timber Seal PLUS should be applied to clean, dry surfaces, by a gardentype sprayer or roller. .• Lanotec Timber Seal PLUS is compatible with most oil based tints, if the timber is dry it will accept a tint mixed into the Timber Seal PLUS at a rate of 5%. However it is advisable to conduct a penetration test with an off-cut or in an inconspicuous area first.

ROUGH SAWN TIMBER (GENERAL & MAJOR CONSTRUCTION): Construction Stage: • Spray Lanotec Timber Seal PLUS on bearers, joists, end grains, checkouts, drill holes etc before assembly. For base plates, large bearers (e.g. Wharves and timber bridges), bollard capping and threaded rods and bolts use Lanotec Type A Grease. • Timber Seal PLUS and Lanotec Type A Grease can be easily combined to produce a slurry that overcomes application problems in cold weather. Finishing Stage: • Apply one coat of Timber Seal PLUS using a direct spray method to minimise overspray, or lambs wool roller. Allow six hours before walking on structure. Product Data Sheet U.P. (Ultimate Protection) Always read entire label before using product

PREPARATION:

• Lanotec U.P. will give best results when applied to a clean, dry surface. • It is understood that not all areas can be cleaned or dried before application, but the application of U.P will give far more benefits on a dirty surface than not applying U.P. at all. • Remove sources of ignitions, voltage and flame before use. • Lanotec U.P. is soluble in oil, and therefore light oils on machined parts do not need to be removed before coating. • Lanotec U.P. will stop surface rust in its tracks, so no need to remove surface corrosion. • Where corrosion is intense, the removal of large chunks and flaky areas will reduce the amount of product required. • Where long term mothballing of equipment is the ultimate aim, a good clean with a powerful degreaser before application of Lanotec U.P. will give best results. Lanotec recommends Lanotec PowaWash or Lanotec Citra-Force.

APPLICATION: • Shake container to ensure product is mixed correctly. Colder climates will require extra agitation. • Lanotec U.P. can be applied via spray, brush, roller or lambs wool applicator. • Lanotec provides a 750ml trigger bottle and a 1.5L pump up pressurised sprayer, for small to medium coating jobs. For larger jobs recommended application is via a pump-up garden-type sprayer with Viton seals or an air-driven or air-less painting system. • Coverage is approximately 20m² per litre. Only one coat is required. If over applied the coating will become tacky, and debris will stick to it. High pressure water blasting will remove the debris and leave the Lanotec U.P. behind. • When applying to objects via spray, hold 30cm away from object. Start from the top and coat evenly from one side to the other. • When the surface looks wet, you have applied enough product. • Allow one hour drying time before putting equipment to use. • If dust adhesion is undesirable, Lanotec U.P. can be buffed to stop dust adhering. Dust and dirt adhesion is only to the protective coating, and when coating is removed equipment will revert back to original appearance.

REAPPLICATION: • Reapplication is recommended every 12 months if outside. Reapplication is not required if stored out of direct sunlight (i.e. in a warehouse). • Visual inspection is recommended after six months where products are stored or operating in a corrosive environment. Reapply where required during service intervals. • High pressure clean dirt and dust from surface. Allow to dry. • Reapply as per application instructions above.
