Time flies and lots JCI leaders, members, and active participants have participated in a lot of fun and meaningful events organized by the JCI local chapters and JCI internationally. Together we accomplished lots of our flagship projects and creative projects. Most importantly, the impact that we have created both on ourselves and on the community is what means a lot to us.

Message from 2018 National President of JCI Macao, China Time flies quickly, and it is already the final quarter of the year. Looking back to the achievements of JCI Macao members in this year, it is very pleased to see that everyone has truly committed to “strive for positive change”! In July, we have provided trainings such as “Project Management for Organizing Committee Members”, “Parliamentar y Procedures”, and “Bid Book Seminar”. Also, we, young active citizens, have committed to serve in the community by hosting the 2018 World Cleanup Day on 29th September, to share the importance of protecting our environment, especially when Macau SAR has our own 85 km2 of maritime area. At t h e s a m e t i m e , t h e t w o l o c a l organizations, Pan Mac Junior Chamber a n d Hou Kon g Ju n i or C h a mb e r h a s accomplished their community development and business projects successfully. Especially for Hou Kong Junior Chamber, I am pleased to witness and celebrate the signatory ceremony with JCI Chung-Li, Taiwan on15thSeptember. A new year is approaching, and we JCI members are always responsible to create a better world through actions to achieve sustainable impacts locally, nationally and globally. Through collaborations, we believe Peace is Possible!!

The 1st Youth Jinghua Tour Initiated by the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region and led by the National President of JCI Macao, China, Jonathan Lou, 17 representatives from JCI Hou Kong, JCI Pan Mac, SMA, and also from different charitable organizations jointly visited the United Front Department of Wuhan, Hubei, charitable organizations and historical attractions of Jingzhou and Yichang. With this visit, the National President of JCI Macao China aims to enhance the understanding of these representatives on the national development progress, to encourage a closer cooperation among the groups in order to deliver creative idea on charitable projects of the Macao charitable associations. Except for the visit to The United Front Department of Wuhan, Hubei, the group also visited the Youth Federation and Charitable Association of Hubei to understand the progress and milestones of the youth charitable projects in China. In addition, the group also visited the University of Wuhan, Yangtze River Three Gorges, Chu King Car Array and museums and gained in-depth understanding on the Chinese history, the one belt one road development plans as well as the business development trends.



Macao Government Tourism Office visited JCI Macao, China Director of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, together with Deputy Directors Cheng Wai Tong and Hoi Io Meng of Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) visited the JCI Macao office at the 19th of July 2018. They introduced the MGTO's four-year work plan to promote Macao as a Creative City of Gastronomy. Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes introduced the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the process of Macao's declaration of joining the City of Gastronomy initiative, the development as well as the implementation of the work plan - Creative City of Gastronomy. Discussion with the board members of JCI Macau was held regarding how to promote the detailed work plan and expressed how creative and attractive is Macau to the world. Idea were exchanged regarding new possibilities to integrate gastronomy and innovation to promote Macao and its newly introduced initiative. Our National President, Jonathan Lo and board members shared their opinions and best practice examples learned from JCI internationally. In the end, our National President, Jonathan, introduced the vision, mission, and the direction of JCI Macao and the progress of the 2018 year plan.



Project Management Training On 14th July, JCI Macao, China organized a training secession to their team members: Project Management. This training focused on leading the participants in finding the project goal, with process of looking for the right team-players and setting the direction. In addition, this training introduces seven tools that assist participants in preparing their projects, as well as the contingency and on-day planning strategies for different project scales.

Parliamentary Procedure Training Parliamentary Procedure training was held on 19 July with purpose of giving participants an understanding of using parliamentary procedure for organizing committee meetings. Through interactive coaching, both trainers explained the importance of meeting agenda items, as well as the reason for raising a discussion by motion and quorum.

Training on Writing an Award Bid-book

JC Dodo So, immediate past president of JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes and JC Dora Chan, Vice President of JCI Hong Kong Jayceettes shared their experiences in writing JCI award bid-books on 29th July. Planning in advanced, taking impressive and useful pictures, and staying organized are some tactics that an award-winning bid-book cannot be missed. Participants found this seminar useful as they can apply these tactics into their bid-book writing process.

The 2018 JCI World Congress at Goa (India) will be an event people want to be part of; active members, senators, alumni, and even nonmembers! Why? For the world class speakers, for the fantastic company visits, for the famous Goan parties. There will be plenty of opportunity for participants who prefer to divide their time over leadership content, attending JCI official meetings, tourist outings, parties and sports. Our program will have an official JCI program like the General Assembly, official JCI Courses and public speaking and debating contests, but also a Global Village Party, tourist trips to major Goan attractions, as well as company visits and a trade show.
