Ian Crosby, Managing Director, Stonehage, said: ‘At Stonehage we place enormous value on preserving the wellbeing of the families we look after. It is vital that we have the ability to anticipate potential problems before they arise and to act to prevent them. This principle applies neatly to an individual’s awareness of their own health, and how important it is to take preventative action, thereby reducing long term risks.’ Saturday 27th September - The JCG Foundation will also be hosting a coffee morning on Saturday 27th September 11 till 1pm at The Royal Yacht. This event is being kindly sponsored by Sure. Everyone is welcome. Please email if you would like to attend. We are very grateful to Stonehage for taking the lead and supporting this inaugural event. We would also very much like to thank Sure, Dickinson Gleeson, Adapt Design, The Royal Yacht Hotel and After Breast Cancer for also helping us make this visit possible’ continued Leanda Guy.

Stonehage has received widespread recognition for the excellence of its services, including the prestigious Family Office of the Year award from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. The whole thrust of the rethink cancer campaign has been instigated by the Coppafeel! team who have been educating young people about breast cancer in schools in the UK for 3 years. We are also delighted that during her visit we have secured time for Kris to meet with Jersey’s new Head of Education to investigate how Jersey can benefit from this incredible initiative.’ Building on the successes that Coppafeel! are experiencing in taking these messages into schools they are now asking that: - All student teachers are trained how to teach young people how to look after and manage their health - That all secondary school students have protected time in the school curriculum to learn how to look after and manage their health - That there is a creative approach taken to teaching cancer awareness and healthy behaviours that has impact and tangible benefit. - There is currently a severe lack of cancer awareness in schools. Lack of awareness leads to late presentation to GPs and ultimately to a late diagnosis of the disease. Half of the cancers diagnosed today could be prevented with a change of lifestyle so the Coppafeel! team believe it is time we taught good habits and wish to start our young people on the right road with education and awareness to help lower their risk of cancer and increase their chances of survival.
