18 THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT
YOUNG LEADERSHIP DIVISION
YLD IS THE JEWISH FEDERATION OF CLEVELAND’S YOUNG LEADERSHIP DIVISION. WE CONNECT YOUNG JEWISH ADULTS TO EACH OTHER AND THE COMMUNITY THROUGH SOCIAL, VOLUNTEER, LEADERSHIP, AND PHILANTHROPIC ACTIVITIES. THIS IS YOUR GATEWAY TO CLEVELAND’S VIBRANT AND WELCOMING JEWISH COMMUNITY!
The Jewish Federation of Cleveland is the only Jewish organization that considers the needs of our community as a whole and plans for its future. Not to brag, but... Over 1,000 Cleveland volunteers help lead decision-making about our local and global community’s welfare. They are our lay leaders and they are active in guiding our community’s direction. Based on our recent population study, there are 80,000 Jewish Clevelanders; and, each one can feel safe knowing that our community collective is here for you in good times or in bad times. We are one of the largest grant makers in Ohio. Last year, we made more than 6,600 grants totaling over $212 million to Jewish and general causes. We are helping make our community stronger.
When you connect to YLD, you become part of a network that reaches our local Jewish community and cares for the global Jewish world.

BE A LEADER
Every year, Jewish Clevelanders between the ages of 21 and 45 have the opportunity to participate in high quality leadership development training with us. Our flagship program, LEADS (Leadership, Education, And Development Series), fosters your leadership skills as a professional and volunteer through working with senior leaders. You can meet new people who share a passion for Jewish life and advance personally and professionally through leadership training. You can also make national connections through National Young Leadership Cabinet. With more than 4,000 alumni, Cabinet is the premiere leadership program of the Jewish Federations of North America, our national partner.
WE ALSO HAVE OUR OWN BOARD! BOARD MEMBERS DRIVE YLD ACTIVITY IN OUR THREE CORE AREAS OF ENGAGEMENT, LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, AND PHILANTHROPY. FIND YOUR SEAT AT THE TABLE AND SEE YOUR IDEAS COME TO LIFE!
DO A MITZVAH! EACH YEAR, JEWISH CLEVELANDERS COME TOGETHER TO DO HANDS-ON VOLUNTEERING AT YLDAYS OF CARING.
TOGETHER, WE HELP IMPROVE LIVES BY VOLUNTEERING WITH LOCAL NON-PROFITS.

Meanwhile, we get to know each other better too!
