Early Childhood Education Each month, the J's Early Childhood Education (ECE) program focuses on a different Jewish value to incorporate into classroom lesson plans and share with families. December's value: Mishpacha (Family) The Pre-Kindergarten Gimmel class discussed traditions and how each person celebrates the holiday season with his or her family: visiting relatives, making cookies, decorating gingerbread houses, opening gifts, lighting the menorah and so much more. Children also taught their families more about Chanukah traditions such as the dreidel game and grating potatoes for latkes.

Health & Wellness During the month of February, exercise your way through a FREE "Trek Across Israel" created by the J's resident shinshinim (young Israeli emissaries)! Each fitness activity of your choice that you do counts as 30 miles on the Israel National Trail, which connects more than 600 miles of marked trails through Israel's valleys and mountains. Every week, registrants will be emailed photos and facts about milestones you'll "pass" along the trail, so you can participate in person at the J or virtually from home. Track your miles on an individual scorecard (also emailed to registrants) or on the communal dry erase board outside the Mordoh Fitness Center. Register at JCCindy.org/programs. Shinshi-News Maya and Enav, the JCC's shinshinim ("young Israeli emissaries"), have done so much in the few short months they've been in Indianapolis!
