Johnson (12-1) 105 vs Hesston (6-8) 57 Johnson County Rolls by Hesston OVERLAND PARK, KS – Johnson County stared down the barrel of an 11 game win streak and responded with a 105-57 victory over Hesston. The Cavaliers won their 11th straight and improved their record to 12-1 and 4-0 in region play. Hesston drops to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in the region. The Cavaliers rolled in the first half 55-26. Sophomore Guard Ryan Magdziarz scored 34 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, dished out 2 assists and had 2 steals. Magdziarz single handily scored the Cav’s first 17 points of the second half enroute to a career high. Sophomore Ryan Arel chipped in with 14 points. 6-4 Freshman Forward Justin Leathers posted 9 points and 5 rebounds, to go with 4 assists. JCCC had an excellent offensive performance by shooting 54%( 33/61) from the floor and also recorded 26 assists. The Cav’s also knocked down 12/23 three point baskets. ” We did an excellent defensively which resulted in quite a few transition points”.
