Hi! I’m Tyrone.

Hi! I’m Tina.

Tyrone often makes good choices online.

Tina sometimes makes poor choices online.

» He knows when to keep private information to himself.

» She often overshares.

» He knows when to talk to an adult when something online makes him uncomfortable. » He remembers that information can spread fast and far online.

» She shares private information online without talking to an adult first. » She forgets that other people can copy, save, and use her information in all sorts of ways.

Directions: Finish the comic strips on the next page to show how Tyrone and Tina might handle the same situation quite differently.

Lesson topic: ____________________________________________________________ Digital Etiquette and Digital Footprint

On this unit today, I learned about Digital Etiquette. Digital Etiquette is a set of rules that you should follow that makes the internet better for others. If you don't be careful in what you say, some people may think that your mad or angry when your not. For instance, if you use all caps and say "OMG COME HERE NOW" they will think you are angry at them because you can't see how they react. They could have been excited, but it can also seem that they are mad, when they aren't. I also learned about Digital Footprint. Digital Footprint is whenever you get on a website it leaves a mark, or someone can copy what you posted. That's why you should always be careful what you get on, or what you post online. You should always ask someone's permission before posting they're picture online!

THE HISTORY OF THE KEYBOARD

Christopher Sholes was an american inventor invented the first practical type writter. Hey also invented QWERTY keyboard still used today. Sholes had moved to Milwaukee and became the editer of a newspaper. Sholes initial goal was to create a machine to number pages of a book. The first row of a keyboard was made of ivory and the second was made of ebony, the rest of the framework was wooden. He arrived at the typewriter through a different route.
