You should also be aware of the worth of your home and be cautious of not receiving a bad deal. If you do research on your home, as well as the surrounding neighborhood, you should become comfortable enough with the numbers to set a desired price and stick by it. Buyers will reach out to you at all times of the day and they have short attention spans. If they do not have an answer pretty quickly, they move onto the next home or call the house that has a Realtor they can call and speak to. If you put the listing online like Zillow, Craigslist, etc. you have to make certain you can handle the calls during the peak times.

You Can’t Sell A House What about where over the phone! they live now and are they qualified? The objective is to get the potential buyer to come to the house and see it. Trying to sell the house over the phone could turn them off. Remember to ask them probing questions: What are the looking for in a home, what are their needs and their wants, do they need 3 bedrooms or really need 4? These are all things you need to know so you know if they are matching your home and would want to come see your house.

Do they have a house they need to sell first to buy yours! If so, is it currently on the market? How many days on the market? Have they had any showings? Etc. Currently statistics show 7 out of 10 buyers need to sell their home first. Are they preapproved/qualified? You need to know that they are serious buyers or not. Do you want just anyone walking around your house or do you want a serious buyer? Serious buyers have already spoken with their lender and are ready to go. You want to make certain they send you a copy of the letter.

Buyers will call FSBO sometimes on their own and after getting more information they relay that to their REALTOR® and the next call you get will be from them. You have to ask yourself if you are going to work with a Buyers Agent. If you are, you have to remember you will be negotiating with the agent and not the buyer.
