Program Highlights: Extraordinary People — A series of documentaries exploring remarkable tales of human experience from all over the world. Each documentary follows the lives of people with a rare medical condition or unusual ability. People featured have or had rare illnesses such as rabies and eye cancer. Many of these people do activities previously thought impossible for people in their condition.

Stan Lee’s Superhumans — Throughout history, the forces of evolution and genetic mutation have endowed humans with astonishing new abilities and features. Co-hosted by Stan Lee, the legendary creator of the X-Men, the series scours the globe for the real-life counterparts of Lee’s characters–people with unique genetic traits that translate into remarkable powers. These include a man whose body is powerfully magnetic, another who can withstand deadly levels of cold and yet another whose brain performs complex calculations at staggering speeds.

127 Hours — The true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston’s remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he can be rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers, family, and the two hikers he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet?

The Logo: The Super logo brings the brand promise to life and instantly communicates the essence of what we show on our network: people rising above and standing out. The lowercase “e” has an upward baseline shift so that the bottom of the eye/counter is aligned with the x-height of the lowercase “r”. The “e” is also encapsulated in a square box to demonstrate that one can stand out and rise above.

Color Palette: In order to express what the Super brand stands for, colors were thoroughly researched with the end result being a shade of purple. Red is a very emotionally intense color. It enhances human metabolism, increases respiration rate, and raises blood pressure. Red is used to indicate courage. This color is also commonly associated with energy and high physical activity. Dark Red is associated with vigor, willpower, rage, anger, leadership, courage, longing, malice, and wrath. Blue is considered beneficial to the mind and body. It slows human metabolism and produces a calming effect. Blue is strongly associated with tranquility and calmness. In heraldry, blue is used to symbolize piety and sincerity. Dark Blue represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness. Light Blue is associated with health, healing, tranquility, understanding, and softness. Purple combines the stability of blue and the energy of red. It symbolizes power, nobility, luxury, and ambition. It conveys wealth and extravagance. Purple is associated with wisdom, dignity, independence, creativity, mystery, and magic.

Logo Color: For flexibility, secondary colors are applied to the logo in several color variations for optimal legibility. These colors were chosen to give off an energetic and exciting feeling that is represented in our programming. The preferred logo color treatment is when the logo type is purple while the background remains an alternate color. The combination that is mostly used is when the logo is purple and the background is gray and vise versa. The alternate colors are mostly used for advertisements and on air graphics. For non-color applications, the logo is to be presented in black and white.
