Each year, College of Saint Mary honors its rich history and looks to the future through a variety of events during its Heritage Week celebration. Heritage Week begins on Founder’s Day, Sept. 12 – the date College of Saint Mary was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1923 – and concludes on Mercy Day, Sept. 24 – the date Catherine McAuley opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin in 1831. This year’s events included everything from the traditional Founder’s Day Dinner, the Second Annual Archbishop Elden Curtiss Lecture Series on Catholicism, and a Leadership Network breakfast – to the first-ever Party on the Plaza, along with the Athletic Hall of Fame luncheon, Community Art Show, and Mercy Day root beer floats.
