to our eighth annual Namken Red Angus Bull Sale! This marks our nineteenth year of selling Red Angus bulls. We would like to thank all our new and repeat customers for your interest in our program. Without your support we wouldn’t be able to raise our family doing what we love, raising Red Angus cattle. This year’s group of bulls and females is something to be excited about. There are many new sire groups that are outcross to many programs throughout the country. One of these is Namken Resource 33D. He is sired by SAV Resource 1441, one of the most dominant bulls in the Angus breed for consistently siring cattle with power, fleshing ability, and productive daughters. This may be the largest offering of red SAV Resource 1441 influenced progeny to sell in the Red Angus breed in the country this spring. Another new bull is ARO Trailblazer 7104. Trailblazer is doing just what he was purchased to do, sire long sided progeny with great performance. Another bull we purchased is ARO Prosperous 7145. Prosperous was added to the herd sire battery as a bull that will add base width, a wide hip and pin set, add a bold rib, and still have great performance in a moderate package. The last bull we purchased was from Saskatchewan, Red Flying K Hard Drive 83E. 83E was added as a low birthweight sire to use on heifers that wouldn’t sacrifice power or capacity. He has certainly met this criteria. A wise old man once told me “if you find a good one you better buy him whether you need him or not.” That is exactly what happened and we are grateful we found the bulls we did in 2018. These bulls have taken our program closer to our goals, maternal cattle with good performance while continually building the cow that will graze more days throughout the year with less pampering. Our cows graze in a rotational grazing system with 75% of our pastures being tame grass and the rest being native pastures. No creep feed is used on summer pasture to allow the cows to express their true milking ability. The bulls were weaned September 19 and developed on a 46Mcal ration by Josh Nelson from J&R Feeds for longevity. These bulls will not be fleshy, but they will be in working condition when delivered. On the female offering again this year we are offering 10 elite purebred females. These are straight out of the replacement pen and nothing has been sold as we did not participate in any fall or winter sales. Also don’t miss the commercial replacement females from Arlen Boehnke and Adam Hartley. This a fancy group that will make the new owner a great set of brood cows. We sure hope you are able to attend February 23 but if you are not able, we certainly understand. New this year the sale will be broadcast online with DVAuction. SEMEN TEST Every bull will pass a semen test before it leaves. Bulls will be tested AFTER the sale.
SEMEN INTEREST We will retain 1/3 semen interest in every bull in the sale. Buyer has 2/3 semen interest, full possession and salvage value. DELIVERY Delivery on bulls will start around April 1, after
they have passed a semen test. Heifers are buyers responsibility to be picked up.
VOLUME DISCOUNT We will give a 10% discount on
the 10th bull purchased from Namken Red Angus over any period of time. This allows even the smallest buyers to receive volume discounts! For your convenience, Namken Red Angus will keep track of your number of purchases.
TERMS The terms of the sale are cash and the right of property
shall not pass until after the settlement is made. All settlements must be made immediately following conclusion of the sale as no cattle will be released until settlement has been made.
CONDITIONS All cattle sell according to the suggested Terms and Conditions of the Red Angus Association of America. PURCHASER’S RISK Each animal becomes purchaser’s risk as soon as the auctioneer says sold.

This maybe one of the smoothest made SAV Resource grandsons in the sale. He has the highest ADG in the sale at 3.68. His dam, 15R, is 15 years old with a 103 MPPA and still going strong with a beautiful udder. At that age I decided she had been around long enough to flush this past year.
