LAKE MICHIGAN Hotel & Conference Center

Located on M -139, this facilit y would be the premier location for local companies to host conferences and events. It contains 150 hotel rooms, a 10,000 square foot exhibit hall, multiple conference rooms, a full restaurant, and other hotel amenities. The goal was to create a variet y of spaces for collaboration, from small nooks for private conversation to an exhibit hall for large gatherings. This led to the idea of ex truded spaces as a way to emphasize their signif icance.

This was very difficult because we had to create a design that would cater to a variety of people, from tourists expecting internationally accredited service to local residents with no money to pay for procedures. Site Section: North to South

Bringing nature and design together to encourage health

Mark Jardine & Josh Sanabria Andrews University: Spring 2014 Module Section: Pediatrics Pan American Health Service, Honduras

The modules form a grand circular courtyard with dozens of native trees, flowers, and plants. Patients, staff, and guests are encouraged to stroll through the gardens for relaxation and the health benefits of getting outside. Close to each private room module is a small sitting area for enjoying the view and the cool air flowing through the landscape. Grand Courtyard
