When needing to switch out tools, the equipment has an excellent system set up. A variety of tools are often held by the cartridge spindle. The desired tool may be firmly secured to or released from the spindle by activating the drawbar, which interfaces with a pull stud that is linked to the back of each tool holder. In a lengthwise direction, vises can be mounted on the table or placed sideways if needing to hold the portions vertically. To facilitate side milling, parallels can be used to hold the pieces in place for this alignment. If the work piece is pretty thin, thin and wavy parallels may be used.
