Fine & Country has teamed up with professional artist Linda Matthews of Paint ‘n’ Canvas Holidays, to offer one lucky reader the chance to win a painting tutorial course worth £200, either for themselves, or for a group of up to six people, at her studio in Norfolk. Working as a professional artist and tutor for over thirteen years, Linda is inspired by everything around her. As an artist she prefers the freedom of painting from life, en plein air in the countryside around her studio in the Norfolk Broads, or abroad, especially in France and Morocco where she runs her successful Paint ’n’ Canvas holidays. Linda’s painting philosophy is, “Wherever you look there is inspiration” and she paints to uplift the observer, keeping colours fresh, not over working or over mixing. As well as teaching painting and drawing techniques, Linda believes her task as a tutor is to instil confidence in students, so they feel able to develop their own style of work, using subject matter as inspiration not copying. Her own work is in private & corporate collections worldwide, and has been selected for exhibition at the Designer & Artists Copyright Society. Linda’s studio is based at her Broad Skies Gallery in Norfolk, where you can find a delightful collection of her own paintings, prints and greeting cards.
