Falls on the Tummel River, Perthshire, fine oval oil on board, signed with monogram, inscribed with title to verso, 23 x 16.5cm (9 x 6.5ins), framed, original printed label of Charles Roberson, Artists’ Colour Makers and remains of early exhibition label to verso The scene depicts the falls of the River Tummel, near Pitlochry in Scotland. A larger version on canvas of the same subject is held at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, and was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1844. (1) £200-300
