Charles Francis Xavier is known as the world’s most powerful mutant. He wanted humans and mutants to live together peacefully; humans weren’t treating mutants very well. Erik Lehnsherr as the villain, Magneto.

CHILDHOOD AND MIDLIFE Charles was born in New York as a mutant, he wanted to be a scientist just like his father, Brian. Unfortunately his parents died when Charles was young. Charles was very sad and thought he could change the world, by having mutants and humans live together peacefully. Years later Charles joined the army. During his travels he met one of his dearest friends Erik Lehnsherr (who would later become Magneto one of Charles’s worst nemesis). Erik was a mutant too. Erik had the ability to control magnetism. Charles and Erik couldn’t be friends because Erik hated humans and was against them. Charles was the opposite, he wanted to be friends with humans, so Erik and Charles fought and became archenemies.

Later on Charles went back to New York and decided to create a school for mutants called,, Xavier’s school for gifted youngsters. He thought mutants had a right to learn too. At the school, Charles trained mutants to use their powers wisely. The school is located in Westchester County, New York.

Charles’s powers were: vast psionic capabilities, he can read minds, erase minds, he can perform astral projections, makes illusions, he can take mental control of others and he can fire mental blasts.

At the school during World War II, Charles created a team called the X-Men, to help fight the war and to fight crime. The team had five mutants that were individually named: Cyclops, Archangel, Marvel Girl (or Jean Grey), Iceman and Beast. The team fought against Magneto often, but never exactly beat him. Charles created the second X-Men team later on, with the mutants: Nightcrawler, Colossus, Storm, Banshee and Wolverine. The team was made up of a lot of amazing mutants and fought many great villains.

After the second X- Men team, Charles created the third group called The New Mutants. Charles fought a lot of villains with this team. But unfortunately Charles lost his use of legs fighting against the Shadow King.. Afterwards, Charles created the fourth X-Men team, Generation X. But later something very bad happened. Charles and Magneto got very angry at each other in a fight. Magneto went on a rampage and stole the adamant from Wolverines’ body. With the adamant Magneto got stronger. The only thing Charles could do was erase Magnetos mind so he did it; without thinking, Charles accidentally created a psionic beast, called Onslaught. Every superhero on earth came together to try and defeat Onslaught. The story states that Onslaught caused the death of the Avengers and the Fantastic Four, but no one knows for sure. After the battle Charles got sent to jail and briefly lost his telepathic powers. Years later Charles got out of jail. And there was a war called the World War Hulk. In World War Hulk Charles got shot in the head, by a villain called Bishop. Charles attained a very bad injury, which put him into a coma. When Charles woke up from his coma, he had lost a big part of his memory. Charles got to work then, trying to put it back together. He didn’t end up succeeding, but he tried.

“My name is Charles Xavier. I am a mutant. And once upon a time I had a dream...of a world where all Earth's children, both mutant and baseline human, might live together in peace. This isn't it. This is today's reality” – Charles Xavier
