Join the Booster Club We all need to be lifted up and encouraged at times and the Bible is a great source for encouragement. The Bible is the living word of God and feeds us through the promises of God as found in scripture. I have recently added the “Promises of God” app to my iPhone. It works like the old book version where you look up a topic and then it gives you the verse were God has made a promise to us. Wow, what a great tool! In fact the Bible has over 7000 promises for us to stand on. It has something to say on everything we can face in this life. Isn’t God good? The promises of God have a way of lifting our spirit in times of need, giving us hope for the future, and inspiration in the present. The Lord has also set up the church—the body of Christ in its local expression for the same purpose of encouragement. Hebrews 10:25 (NIV) says, “Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” Notice, “Let us encourage one another” that sounds like we should join the booster club By giving each other a boost every time we get a chance.

The word “encourage” is a powerful little word. In the ancient Greek world this word depicted someone who is right alongside a person, urging him, imploring him intensely and begging him to make some kind of correct decision.

Breach Youth Church The leaves are changing; mornings are crisp; fields are being harvested; and our students have already gathered around their flagpole to stand in faith believing that God is going to break free in their school and country. This can only mean one thing! Fall is here! We are so proud of our students who came together Wednesday, Sept. 26th at 7 am for “See You at the Pole.” Eighteen students were gathered at the High School, seven of which were ours. Seventeen were gathered at the middle school, of which three were ours. We are believing God to do great things this year in our students and their schools. “See You at the Pole” is one of the many things this month had for the students of First Assembly. I was also proud of students as the youth accepted the opportunity to talk, encourage, and pray for others at the altars of the Impact World Tour which was held at the civic center. We also kicked off the fist Fifth Quarter event, Friday, Sept. 14th at the Slater. The Fifth Quarter event was an alternative to the dance after the homecoming football game. We had seventeen students come to play games, win door prizes, play games, and eat pizza! We are excited and looking forward to What God is going to do this month through the events that are scheduled. Youth Convention is an amazing time for students to get together with other students of our state, participate in the events, and be renewed and challenged in the evening and morning services. Please be praying for our students as they prepare for these events. These past few weeks my messages have been about taking ownership of their faith, and getting real with God. I believe there is so much that God is doing this month and the months to come. That is why I am excited about our Reverse Trick-orTreating event which we are calling “Treat-no-Tricking.” This is an exciting event where students will dress up and go door to door giving people candy and church information. We are doing this to show our appreciation for them and giving to the people of our community, as well as praying for them and their families needs. This is going to be a lot of fun for the students to dress up and give candy door to door. I believe it is going to build students and impact our community as well. They can have fun AND reach others! Good things are ahead! Thank you for your support and prayers! Pursuing the Moments!
