PERIODSUNROOM ADDITION LITTLE WASHINGTON, VIRGINIA

A sunroom addition to an American-Italianate style house built in the late 19th century. Located in the Shenandoah Valley at the base of the Northern Blue Ridge Mountains, it is host to a sprawling chestnut tree stand, livestock paddocks and several outbuildings. The interior millwork, exposed roof framing and window material are sourced from one of Chestnut trees grown on-site. The glazed roof has been designed with laminated glass to resist a heavy snow-load, easily coping with 6-feet of snow dropping on it from the roofline above. Each window can be replaced with screened sashes for the summer and spring seasons when the scenery is at its peak.
