With the launch of the new Presidential Scholarship Program, getting a college education at James Sprunt is more accessible than ever. James Sprunt is now offering free tuition to graduating high school seniors in Duplin County. The program is available to high school students throughout Duplin County, including those who may be homeschooled or attend a private school. Pictured below is a photo of our first class of Presidential Scholars.

Eligibility: •

Must be a graduating high school senior in Duplin County with a 3.0 unweighted GPA at the time of graduation.

Students must complete three James Sprunt classes with a “C” or higher through the North Carolina Career and College Promise Initiative

Students must complete all financial aid forms, including the FAFSA and other necessary documents.

Students must also complete an application, which will be available for potential candidates in the Spring semester.

Scholarship Requirements Complete a JSCC Application in Associate or Diploma Programs for Enrollment in Fall 2017.

Complete a 2017-2018 FAFSA and Submit to JSCC.

Graduate from High School in 2017 with at least a 3.0 Unweighted GPA.

Complete Three or More JSCC Career & College Promise Classes with a ‘C’ or Better Grade.

Must Be a United States Citizen. Maintaining Scholarship Requirements

Remain in Good Academic Standing at JSCC (2.0 or Higher Cumulative GPA).

Maintain Completion Rate of 67% or Higher While a Student at JSCC.

Complete FAFSA Each Year.

Scholarship Available for Maximum of 2 Consecutive Academic Years (4 semesters) for Traditional Students; 1 year (2 semesters) for Early College Students.

Scholarship Ends Once Associate Degree is Completed.

I understand that a maximum of 30 Presidential Scholarships will be awarded in Fall 2017. The Presidential Scholarship will cover the remaining balance of student tuition after all other financial aid and outside scholarships have been awarded.
