JAE HO PARK Eco HETEROTOPIA Professional work Hainan, China 07/2016

Eco HETEROTOPIA is a competition on an artificial island, it is ambitious plan to create a new attraction in Haikou city, using the medium of cruise tourism. This urban designing project aims to establish a system of relational flexibility that accommodates change rather than formative suggestions. The design of the 12 villages follows an existing city pattern, and the number 12 is a perfect number or transfinite number in china, and thus symbolizes the existence of infinite villages.

JAE HO PARK HK Tower

Prof. Jerry Wells Kowloon, Hong Kong 05/2017 The highest skyscraper in Hong Kong. The HK Tower is 490m tall and multi-purpose building which includes residential, retail, office, and community spaces. The HK Tower is designed with two characteristics. While the private residential area is located in the upper part of the tower, rest of the public and office spaces are located in the lower part of the tower. Up to the Turbine Level from the ground, the solar chimney is under controlled between a double layered facade by the turbines that embedded on to the facade as well as the one that is installed at the top of the atrium. The Romans raised bathing to a high art as they socialized in these communal baths. A night club is one of the most socialized spaces in this modern period. In this proposal, spaces are defining as bringing these two together from the intervention of different programs in different periods, but with the same purpose: ‘Social’. -43

Excavated ancient Roman foam suggests that users had a completely different experience than at the ground level. JAE HO PARK Loyly Sauna

Prof. Mark R. Cruvellier Helsinki, Finland 11/2016 The project is aimed to mainly study and analyze the significant structural system of existing architecture, and I chose  a sauna complex in Helsinki, Finland. Designed and built by  Avanto Architects. Every joint that connects between the brass beams are water jetted and they have been soldered with beams and pins to stabilize the structure it self. Scale of model is 1/4”=1’ 0” The approximate surface area of the building amounts to 3’ x 5’ x 1/2’

Prof. Rychiee Espinosa Ithaca, New York 05/2017 In this special topics in construction seminar, we explored algae as a means to generate energy, absorb atmospheric CO2, provide nutrients, and filter light to reduce direct solar heat gain as part of a living building façade. Due to the budget and the scale of the project, our team had to make a decision to install only one “unit” of the actual idea of the Bamboo Field. Every joint that connects between the PVC pipes are 3D-printed and so is are the algae distributors. Project collaborated with Vicky Chen and Reuben Chen

Kinetic public installation New York, NY 01/2015

Inspired by the data of subway ridership in New York City, the installation was designed to celebrate the new Fulton Station Center’s grand opening. The 15 panels correspond to the top 15 busiest subway stops in Manhattan and rotate with LED lights to visualize real-time ridership. Project developed in MAYA

Porto Botanical Museum is located in Porto, Portugal, inspired by lavender as it is national flower of Portugal, and developed with pentagon shapes to create spaces which follow a contour line to orient the structures which are connected to each other with ramps that run underground, all of which were adapted from an ‘infinite ramp’ and steel material from a previous dwelling project.
