Jaguars Send Seniors Out with Final Victory GRU Augusta end regular season with big PBC victory over Flagler Augusta, Ga. – The Jaguars pull away in final minute from a pesky Flagler squad to secure a crucial Peach Belt Conference victory 88-77 on Senior night. To match the occasion, seniors KJ Sherrill, Ryan Weems, and Harold Doby combined to score 55 points in their last outing at Christenberry. The Jags (22-6, 15-4 PBC) jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first three minutes of play, featuring points from Sherrill and Weems. Flagler followed GRU’s early pounce with a 13-4 run of their own, subsequently breaking down the Jags promising start. GRU clang to a 39-34 half time lead with Sherrill and Weems anchoring the Jags scoring efforts with 11 and nine points, respectfully. The second-half was a plethora of missed shots and turnovers from both sides in the early action until Flagler and leading scorer Jerrell Oxendine pulled a head of the Jags for the first time 46-45. The teams continued to trade baskets for more than 10 minutes before KJ Sherrill, assisted by brother Keshan, made a critical jumper at the 1:51 mark to place the Jaguars on top for good at 76-75. Ryan Weems left the home-crowd with two farewell steals to help close the game out.
