Syracuse Cinematheque Studio IV | 2014
The cinematheque in downtown Syracuse, NY provides film education and entertainment through exhibition spaces, production studios, and classroom theaters. The trapezoidal shape of a movie projection and the sloped theater style seating drove the formal gestures of the building. For the studio, I was chief manager of the site model production. I conducted design discussions amongst my peers and delegated tasks to suit people’s strengths.
Site Model
The workspace rendering shows the trapezoidal qualities of the space and highlights the large window that becomes a drop down movie screen for group production uses, which can be found in the floor plan above looking West. The trapezoidal form can also be noted in the model situated in the middle of the site model. 5
