Using my own dog, who I had just recently rescued off the streets, as inspiration for this project, I aimed to create branding that would stand out on crowded store shelves. My pup has quite the personality. I used her humorous expressions to create several dog illustrations with the goal that a customer might see one that reminds them of their own pup. I carefully selected bright, fresh colors that would represent the natural ingredients used in each product line. These eye-catching colors will stand out on store shelves while also making it easy to identify which product best fits the needs of a customer’s dog. Each color remains consistent among the five different products that Wash ‘N’ Wiggle offers.
Provided a complete blank slate with minimal information to design a honey jar label for a small six panel glass jar. The locally made honey was in need of a name, logo, and packaging label and was to be used as a thank you gift for the Johnson & Wales University Board of Trustees. Taking inspiration from the Wildcat Way, the school’s mantra, I created a sophisticated, rustic yet modern concept for the honey jar. I selected a simple color palette that represented those of the school. Due to the small size of the panels on the honey jar provided, I needed to create a narrow logo. I decided to focus on a typographic logo paired with a hex pattern that would wrap around the label. This geometric pattern is based on the shapes seen in a honey comb.
For this project I set out to conceptualize a high end hotel that would feature a one-of-a- kind experience. I selected Earthy, clay tones to create a strong aesthetic for the “one with nature” feel I was looking to convey. I intended to design a luxurious resort that would be the ideal vacation location for nature lovers who are looking to connect with nature through their stay. The constraints for this project required me to design an about page, contact page, and one category page that would lead to a detail page.
Producing vibrant graphics for a culinary pop-up event
Assigned to a team of JWU culinary student chefs, my teammate and I were asked to design several branded deliverables to be used to both advertise their pop-up event and serve as materials to be used at the event. Beginning with creating a unique, hand-lettered typographic font we conceptualized a fun, vibrant, theme that elevated the Latin American based pop-up. We took inspiration from the festive patterns seen in bracelets and blankets of the Latin American culture to produce a color scheme and pattern to be used on print elements. This speed round challenged my team as we only had two weeks to develop a concept, design the deliverables, and print all of the required elements. Additionally, we challenged ourselves to utilize the laser engraver, a tool which neither of us had experience with, in order to create a beautiful etching of our logo on a light colored piece of wood that would compliment our station menus and overall theme.

When presented the challenge of laying out an eight page type specimen book in which to display the history and functionality of a font I decided to choose a modern, sans serif, that featured several weights and styles. Neutraface, a font family containing two styles, six weights, bold, italics, small caps, and alternates, inspired me because of the size of its font family. I chose to showcase this element, through the use of a flip-book element that would provide an interactive method for the reader to see just how grand Neutraface is. My efforts to conceptualize and go above and beyond the basics earned the following concise, but very rewarding feedback, “incredible...just incredible.”
My vision for this branding project was to create a modern co-working space for creative professionals. I envisioned Mood to be a bright, inspiring place for designers to come collaborate. I selected the word mood because it is a trendy word that millennials use to describe something they relate to. I aimed to create a swanky vibe for students, professionals, and others to get out and focus on their work while being surrounded by other hard-working people. I decided on an icon based logo that had a visual call to action. The graphic of the speech bubble resonates with the conversations that would take place at this workspace.

Working with my team to conceptualize a Hawaiian themed culinary pop-up event by the name of Kāmau. Our chef team wanted to avoid cliché Hawaiian style imagery to convey an upscale event. We used the Hawaiian theme as inspiration to select a modern, original color palette that toned back the typical bright, fluorescent pinks, blues, and oranges that are seen in Hawaiian imagery. To compliment the high-end feel that our chef team was looking for, we took professional photographs of the food that would be served at the event. Knowing that there would be little counter space to place the station menus, we decided to frame the menus to be hung up. To give the station tickets for the event a second purpose, we added a piece of hemp string with jungle inspired wooden beads. This allowed for the ticket to be a takeaway memory that could possibly be used as bookmark.

Tasked with creating two poster designs to display the history, type anatomy elements, and alphabet for one classic serif font and one sans-serif font. I took inspiration from the research I conducted about my selected fonts. For Bodoni, I aimed to take a minimalist approach with my colors to match the sleekness of the typeface. I was highly drawn to the fact that Bodoni is well recognized in the fashion industry for its use in the logo for Vogue Magazine. I carefully laid out this poster to represent a high end style. As for Avant Garde, I represented what Avant-Garde art and fashion is itself, which is new and experimental ideas. Through unique color choices that I felt fit the avant garde theme as well as the placement of the letters and body copy.

A project open to endless creativity. Challenged with imagining an original restaurant for which to design a professional menu for. I wanted to build an entirely unique, type of restaurant that was a bit humorous, while still maintaining a high-end, chic design. My inspiration was taken from a healthy, juice cleanse bar. I wanted to mimic the style of a juice shop to create a juxtaposition through the unlikely pairing of alcoholic and healthy drinks. This project has been referred to as, truly senior level work, for my ability to conceptualize, pursue, execute, and construct a menu design that likely exceeded my own original vision.
User friendly and allergen friendly subscription gift box website
A multi-disciplinary project entailing branding, logo design, and web design. Through fun, vivid colors and a playful font selection I created the subscription gift box brand Everything But Gluten! This company that I conceptualized aims to ease the process of finding tasty Gluten Free foods as well as lighten the cost of eating Gluten Free for families who have members with Celiac Disease. The website features the required about, contact, and shop page with an additional subscription page. Eight different options of subscription boxes are featured on the shop page along with various frequency rates for the subscriptions.
Scan to interact with this digital menu!
During the global pandemic it became necessary to find a solution for a contact-less dining experience. To accommodate this need for a single use menu, I chose to create a digital menu that is downloadable via a link or QR code. Aquae Vitae, which translates to Water Life, is a small tasting menu featuring seafood components in each course. I decided to utilize an upscale, clean serif font paired with a whimsical sansserif that represented the smooth flow of water. I stuck with a traditional nautical theme composed of ropes, an anchor, and shades of blues and whites. I wanted to incorporate an anchor into my logo so that I could utilize it as an icon throughout the menu to create consistency as the user traveled to different screens of the menu. A lot of my focus went into creating a purposeful ebb and flow to the movement of the menu. The user experience of this digital menu was extremely important as I wanted the transitions to replicate the smooth currents of the ocean.

A client based project that delivered great success. Challenged with deciphering the wishes of a solo small business owner of handcrafted earrings, myself and my team were able to develop a clear sense of what the client needed in order to have a strong brand image. Utilizing her powerful story behind the reason for beginning this business, we carefully selected a new color palette to better reflect the natural, earthy theme of the handmade leather earrings. From there we expanded her brand to turn her story into beautiful, cohesive design elements to be used across all print collateral.
My first internship of my graphic design career was a virtual experience due to COVID-19. I worked with Sky Blue FC, a women’s professional soccer team based in New Jersey,to maintain engagement with their fans during the global pandemic that postponed their season. I created various adaptive social media posts to best fit the different platforms which included Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Utilizing their new color palette, I produced vectorized typographic elements which were then used for social media ads as well as a banner on the shop page of the website. I also created adaptive logo variations for different holidays and events that were then produced as stickers and printed on to t-shirts.
Working with Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island gave me the opportunity to work on several print collateral projects to update the company branding and create a compelling story through imagery and layout that would connect with a large audience of various demographics. By working with copywriters and senior staff I learned how to best present information to make it easy to digest and relate to for different age ranges, reading levels, income levels, and more. I was able to make photo selections that best fit the demographic of each specified piece while remaining inclusive and diverse. This experience has also allowed me to apply layout skills to make content that is easy to digest while getting all of the necessary information and data displayed in an organized fashion.
At Johnson & Wales University the importance of brand consistency was key. There are two different styles that the university uses for different purposes, so ensuring that the design still tied back to the overarching look is what created a strong, cohesive visual identity. The institutional branding was used for environmental projects, commencement, and formal documents to keep a traditional look and feel whereas the admissions branding was designed to connect with current and prospective students through a more modern, fun, flexible approach. My primary focus was to handle the production of special events projects that were offered by the university. By communicating with internal clients and outside vendors I was able produce a breadth of work ranging from event posters to desk calendars, social media ads for various platforms, multi-page print brochures, culinary event menus and more. For me, the most exciting project I got to take on was the Charlotte Light Rail wrap which I handled the full production of from the design process all the way through to writing the specs and working with the vendor to confirm proper installation of the design.
