C

hristmas is just around

the corner once again, and as usual the fight for the Christmas number 1 spot has been announced. Reports have come in that Nirvana’s ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ may bag the top spot. A Facebook Campaign has been set up and already has over 80 thousand “Likes” on the page. This obviously follows from the 2009 campaign for Rage Against The Machine to become number 1. This sounds like fun, but come on guys, give the pop stars a chance - they are useless as it is. 2012 festival headliners are starting to come out of the woodwork; Metallica have have been confirmed to headline Download Festival 2012 and intend to play

the whole self titled Black Album. Tickets for the festival go on sale very soon so be sure to get your mitts on them before they all go. Keeping with the Rock/ Metal genre, we have a brilliant giveaway for fans of Massachusett rockers Staind. We have some promo copies available and a signed copy from all the band members. CLICK HERE TO ENTER. Have a flick through Issue 73 to see what else AltSounds has been up to.

ALTSOUNDS OUTLOOK Noel, Liam and some High Flying Gallagher Birds

D

I

on’t just take my word for it, as an AltSounds Editor, I have my opinion, but what do the rest of the music industry think? I’ve spoken to 5 inspiring people across the music industry that actually give the X-Factor the fuel it needs to succeed (because without the people that make the music industry work, there wouldn’t be an X-Factor) and they’ve been more than willing to let us know what they think. >>>
