QUESTION? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THANKSGIVING TRADITION?

HOWARD WOLPOFF

I wear a turkey costume and run around the neighborhood yelling HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Swimming! We do Thanksgiving with my family in Miami, and spend most of our afternoons in the pool. When I think of Thanksgiving I think of palm trees, pools and leftovers that need raiding.

We go true Southern and deep fry our turkey. Calories don’t count on holidays, right?

I always enjoy frying a turkey each year then using the fryer to experiment on a new fried appetizer.

My favorite tradition is getting together with the family and the food; turkey, gravy, sweet potatoes, ham. Yum!

“We recently had parents who came to drop off their kids at the campus, sight unseen,” he said. “And when they saw the surrounding neighborhood- no drugstore, no grocery store- they got right back in the car and drove away and took their student with them. That’s got to change.”

Our district and our country face urgent challenges, and residents will not stand idly by and hope the same leaders somehow produce different results. Far too many of our

neighbors have been disregarded and disenfranchised, and we must come together to empower our community and secure the kind of future we want to see. LEGACY OF LEADERS

MAKING A DIFFERENCE Leaders in our community

BY ALAN VINSON OF JT VINSON CLOTHIERS

Efferem O. Williams

The program is a yearlong program and we engage [students] once a month for the course of that year. In doing so, we bring in community business partners, subject matter experts and leaders and they come in and they engage the students.

BUZZ: You had a tie company

already and the Lord inspired you to have a charitable organization to teach young men how to tie a tie. Your organization then became more about how to teach young men how to dress and the importance of their appearance; so tying a tie became more of a metaphor for the organization?

EOW: You’re absolutely right.

Before we can tie and get them to want to tie a tie, we have to walk them through modules which we call ‘workshops.’ There are different modules, there’s one that we call “Attitude is everything,” so you have to change their mindset. Through all the years we’ve taught that ‘If you change a person’s mind you can change the world.’ The next thing is more so about your health.

We have a program called “See it, Treat it, Beat it” and it’s about eating healthy, understanding the types of food and exercise. Education is also very powerful. So we also want kids to have a good attitude, eat healthy, live, but also stay out of jail. We teach them how to stay out of bad things and what to be aware of while also encouraging them to get a job and manage their money.

The AnnieRuth Foundation is a nonprofit organization launched in 2012. Their purpose is to serve as a catalyst of positive change in underserved communities through focusing on education, health initiatives, and economic development. They offer a summer internship program where students are paired with mentors in the community that are working in fields that directly align with the student’s career aspirations. Their goal is to equip participants with knowledge and skills to assist with making healthy life choices; thus empowering them to become positive contributors to society.

From financing major corporate projects to donating to local causes, Synovus has been helping businesses through three centuries. The bank’s main community outreach program, Here Matters, focuses efforts on three essential categories of giving: education, needsbased, and health and wellness. As part of Here Matters, Synovus provides financial and volunteer contributions to local agencies such as United Way, which they support in many of the communities in their footprint, and Feeding America food banks. Synovus also has long-standing relationships with many elementary, middle, and high schools as part of Here Matters’ focus on education. Additionally, Synovus’ team member-funded Jack Parker Scholarship fund has helped hundreds of team members’ children attend college.

ASK THE ATTORNEY

BY STEVE STRUM

Jonathan Zahler

The Law Offices of Jonathan A. Zahler, P.A. ZahlerLaw.com BUZZ: You’ve taken a different path in recent terms with mediation. What led you to go from law practice into mediation? JZ: I really found myself frustrated in the practice of law, when you’re representing people it just seems like no end in sight it’s just the next thing and the next issue that happens. People seem to really shy away from common sense decision making when they’re emotionally involved. A lot of things were difficult to see; I saw people spending a lot of money, I saw people in months and months, sometimes years in litigation and having no end in sight in their resolution. Mediation is a path where people find their resolution. When people start with an agreement and a common ground they often will own that more than if a judge tells them what to do. BUZZ: So if somebody’s facing these difficult decisions to make, what would you recommend for that family as a first step to identify what they need to do? JZ: I would recommend that they reach out to anyone they know who

might’ve been through this before for recommendations for a good divorce attorney. I’d recommend if people aren’t comfortable with the first attorney they speak with, go see a second attorney. Go see someone who will talk bluntly and fairly. UPLOAD YOUR EVENT TO iwantaBUZZ.com’s ONLINE CALENDAR. NOVEMBER 2018

BUZZWORTHY BUSINESSES

J.T. Vinson Clothiers JtVinson.com

We have finally arrived at a day where a man can have a suit made for about the same amount of investment as an equivalent quality suit purchased off the rack. While we have been talking about this for years, the newest innovations of technology and fine tailoring have truly made this value proposition a no-brainer. Why wouldn’t you have a hand in designing your own suits and shirts with the help of a professional designer/tailor? As Zig Ziglar is so fond of saying about people who try to save a little money by purchasing a cheaper product: “In the end, the good costs less.”

There is inherently much more quality built into a suit that is custom designed for a specific person not to mention all of the “bells and whistles”. From functional buttons (surgeon’s cuffs) on the sleeves to fancy linings and all kinds of custom pockets to accommodate an iPhone, iPad, a passport or even a concealed weapon in the jacket. I even made a coat for a magician who had some special pockets created for doing his illusions! Yes, custom clothes really are better than off the rack clothes (by far) and yet they don’t cost more. In fact, often times because of our “no inventory model”, you may actually pay less than you would for some designer label featuring the same quality of construction we put into every suit. Each suit is an individual creation. An expression of form and function and your unique preferences. You aren’t settling for what is hanging there in your size, you are creating something that is uniquely yours starting from scratch each time. The result is a suit that fits you and only you, and no one in the world has one exactly like it! And you’re sure to get lots more compliments from the ladies.

ccella’s dental office is located in Jacksonville Beach where Dr. Scott Wagner and his team provide premier dental care and more to patients. Eccella’s areas of expertise include general dentistry, restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, sports and more. Here’s what makes them different.

Keeping teeth strong, functional, and decay-free is important for patients of all ages, and at Eccella that includes furthering protection with fluoride treatment. Fluoride is a mineral that’s regularly added to municipal water supplies because of the rejuvenating effects studies have shown it to have on oral health. If our team determines that you’re not receiving enough fluoride in your regular diet, a professional application can give your smile the healthy boost it needs. Restorative dentistry such as dental crowns, inlays/onlays, implant crowns and fillings are set apart by using a cutting edge technology called CEREC. This machinery creates a custom crown in a single visit, without having to make a dental impression, making the usual lengthy process drastically shorter! Eccella is also proficient in Cosmetic Dentistry, making your smile as aesthetically beautiful as possible. From the Zoom Whitening to seamless porcelain veneers to even laser gum lifts and cosmetic gum re-contouring, Eccella is the solution for all your cosmetic desires. Did you know mouth guards can also improve your performance in sports as well as protecting? Mouth guards can improve your performance by helping to relax your jaw, which relaxes your neck and straps. This can improve breathing and overall performance. At Eccella, they specialize in two types of custom fitted mouth guards—PX3 and UnderArmor. Using state-of-the-art technology and advanced techniques, Eccella prevents, diagnoses and treats a wide range of dental conditions before they result in permanent damage to a smile. From routine checkups and thorough cleanings to gum disease treatment, TMJ therapy, and everything in between, Dr. Wagner and his team offer general dental services designed to optimize your oral health and improve your quality of life. GETTING 2 KNOW

R aymond Dimaano from “The K ing and I” What is “The King and I” about? “The King and I” is this beautiful Rodgers & Hammerstein classic about a king who juggles the old traditional way of doing things and a new modern way of doing things, when an English teacher named Mrs. Anna comes to Siam to teach the King’s children and wife.” What part do you play in “The King and I”? “I am Ensemble but I’m understudying the role of the Kralahome, which is sort of like the prime minister of Siam. So for example, the king is in charge of everyone and then right under him is the Kralahome.”

group has had multiple number one songs and albums on iTunes, Amazon and Spotify and has also ranked in the top 25 on Billboard Magazine’s charts. What drew you to the character of the Kralahome? “A lot of my background is actually on the heavy singer/dancer track but I really genuinely love acting. The Kralahome in the show is actually an actor role; he doesn’t really have a song in the show that he sings as a solo but he is prominent in the show and he definitely helps the story progress. It’s quite a challenge for me to just play an actor!” How is this production of “The King and I” bringing something new to the story? “This is the second national tour; the original was directed by Bartlett Sher and this production is directed by Shelley Butler. It is based off of the Lincoln Center production. I think the audience will absolutely fall in love with our production because it has something for the whole family; there’s singing, dancing, beautiful sets and costumes and great themes that can relate to our culture today like leadership and power, feminism and bridging cultural differences.” When is the best night to come see the show? “We’re coming to Jacksonville November 13 through 18. Tickets are on sale right now and I think the best days to see it would be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday because it may get busy over the weekend.” Buy tickets here: FSCJArtistSeries.org UPLOAD YOUR EVENT TO iwantaBUZZ.com’s ONLINE CALENDAR. ARTS UNLEASHED

Origami Love Notes Project by Guerilla Arts Project Facebook.com/DREAMJacksonville

Jef Taylor JefTaylor.com

While Jef has spent most of his life studying the arts, his intensive study spanned from 1994 to 2001 at the University of North Florida, where he finished with a degree in mathematics and studio painting. Jef then moved to Nantes, France where he spent two years studying at L’Ecole des Beaux Arts. While in France Jef held two well received solo shows from which ten pieces of the Horizon series hang in a children’s hospital/school for the mentally impaired and several others hang in private collections throughout Europe. During his stay in France, Jef also took part in a juried show where ninety-two artists from around the world submitted work on the theme Blue. “Horizon Bleu” which won first place was purchased and now hangs in a private collection. Since returning to the states, Jef has participated in several juried solo and group shows, and has won several awards.

September began Renewed Community Initiatives’ (RECi) community art project Origami Love Notes. The concept behind Love Notes is to give notes of encouragement and love to over 300 people using the art form of origami. People will receive notes from individuals or simply find these heart shaped notes in unanticipated places. RECi - an organization established by artist and community advocate Tracie Thornton- sees its mission as supporting all Jacksonville communities, but especially communities that lack resources creating a sense of pride through beautification and art as well as identifying historical and environmental assets. “Art can lift the spirit,” says Thornton. “It isn’t just topics like politics and global warming, these issues are important, but so is improving the human condition.” Origami Love Notes is the inaugural endeavor for RECi’s art component, The Guerrilla Art Project. The project proposes injecting art into communities that need it the most, in everyday places. A plan to do four projects total takes shape over the next year bringing together a variety of creatives. During October the hearts will be distributed by volunteers organized by RECi. Call 720-984-1307 or email renewedcommunity@gmail.com if you are interested in getting involved as a partner or volunteer.

My daughter, who is two years older than my son, is in Girl Scouts. When she was a Daisy, they met twice a month, camped once a year. So when my son was in 1st grade and came home with a sheet from S.U.N (Sign Up Night), I figured it would be easy enough. Well...Cub Scouts was dramatically different from Girl Scouts! I attended the Den & Pack meetings with him and we participated in “Go See its” on the weekends to meet requirements. He was having fun and we had more family time together and went places we probably would have never gone to see. We’ve slept on a Battle ship, by the Caverns, in a science museum, at Kennedy Space Center, at Sea World with the Dolphins and more! After about 2 years of Cub Scouting and camping, I started to attend Leader Meetings so I could hear where we would be camping and hopefully have a say in it. After attending a few Leader Meetings, realized thow much volunteers were needed. I accepted the role of Cubmaster and Bears Den Leader. I’ve always volunteered since then and I truly enjoy volunteering in Scouting and my Church. I liked thinking of fun things for the kids to do to meet their requirements and during the Pack Meetings. I love that the family participates and camps “together” in Cub Scouts. I love that Electronics are not allowed at camp outs. That the purpose of camping is to learn to be together, relax and especially to be social with each other. What a great family bonding time! I love the fact that in BSA, a Scout is Reverent, when all other Organizations are removing God. I love the Scout Oath & Law - as every citizen should live by these attributes. I love that Fundraising gets these kids out and speaking to people (something that can’t really be taught, but learned from experience) and gives them a sense of pride, when they earn their prizes and earn money in their Scout account. So, all in all - I truly love the Scouting Program! With that said, when BSA announced Scouts BSA for Feb 2019, I mentioned it to my husband around the kids. My daughter, who is 13 and currently still a member of Girl Scouts has always participated in Cub Scout events and camp outs said, “I’m joining Boy Scouts - I want to

When we speak to family and friends about Marina joining Boy Scouts, some look perplexed. I say right away that I think it’s an AWESOME program and I think girls should have the right to earn their Eagle. Girls can do everything a boy can do, after all. Don’t get me wrong. It is a lot of work. Parents are setting up the tents, cooking and preparing the events. It’s tough to say, “Yeah, let’s go camping instead of sitting at home watching TV.” But that’s what is great about it. If it wasn’t for the camping, hiking and events to participate in - I would probably be sitting on the couch at home with the kids. It’s also tough when you’re walking in the 90 degree heat down a trail and wishing you were in A/C. However, when you’ve completed an amazing hike and you’re sitting in your camp chair after you’ve enjoyed a great meal cooked outside, sitting under the stars - there’s a sense of accomplishment - for the kids and for me. The kids, boys and girls, will look back and remember these great times. And they will always have their Eagle they’ve earned - the experience, on their resume, and for life. As my son is getting older, we look back at all the camp outs/ events we participated in and it reminds us of all the fun we had and that the hard work was worth it! We can’t wait to accomplish more, with our daughter, too! I can’t imagine where my kids would be if not for Scouting. “Prepared for Life” is not just for BSA. All parents want to raise their children to be Independent and good citizens in society. The scouting program helps with that. Scouting for us is a way of life. Boy Scouts of America offers many programs for children throughout Northeast Florida. They have Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Eagle Scouts, STEM Program, Venturing, Aquatics Camp Summer Camp, and more. They have many events throughout fall for registered scouts! You can find more information about Boy Scout programs by visiting their website, here. There are eighty six sign up nights in Duval County this back to school season! Sign up nights start August 22 and run through September 28 at various local schools.

Pattaya Thai on King Article by Anna Heise

the facts

Two Thumbs Up How Good Food Should Taste

menu is heavy with soups, curries, noodles, vegan and gluten-free dishes. There are well over 40 dishes prepared from scratch and use vegetables from their garden to showcase authentic flavors.

Pattaya Thai on King Street is the sister restaurant to the original and still popular Pattaya Thai Grille on Baymeadows Road. Pattaya Thai on King is owned and operated by son Russell Clayton, along with his mother Lek and brother Pikool.

A dish we sampled on a recent visit was the Lemon Grass Sesame Seared Tuna, beautiful Ahi Tuna coated with Sesame and Lemongrass seared to perfection with a side of mango ponzu sauce. Despite the delicateness of the tuna, the lemongrass sesame combination enhanced the tuna flavor leaving us wanting more.

Do not let the size of this restaurant fool you, with six small tables inside and a few outside, weather permitting. They offer up the same amazing flavors and portion sizes as the larger establishment. The

Next up was the Muay Thai Wings, dredged in a light rice flour tempura batter seasoned with garlic, soy, and cilantro root. Once cooked the wings are topped with fried garlic and served

with a garlic chili lime dipping sauce. We took to these wings with enthusiasm, the rice tempura batter was crunchy and brown. We made a mess, but it was so worth it. I am on board with Thai curry and selected the Matsamon Curry with fresh Naan bread. Hints of Cardamom, cinnamon lemongrass, and cumin makes this dish one of my favorites. Subtle flavors with a touch of heat filled with potato chunks, white onion squares, and roasted peanuts all blended with a creamy coconut broth. Combined with the soft, warm naan-- it’s a dish to savor. I have been eating at the Clayton family restaurants for many years, now that they are in my backyard I will continue to indulge myself as often as possible. I encourage you to do the same.

GOOD EATZ by Anna Eatz Jax

Clean Eatz

HOME IMPROVEMENT PROFESSIONAL NEEDED

I was recently invited out to Clean Eatz by owner Tracy Watson to check out the café. As the name implies, the focus is on eating for a healthier lifestyle. Tracy, a North Carolina transplant, shared with me she has been a longtime advocate of healthy living and eating. The co-founders of Clean Eatz were friends of hers as she was a corporate trainer for their Clean Eatz business. Wanting to branch out with her location, she moved to Jacksonville and continued doing what she loves as a professional bodybuilding competitor. She found a spot in Orange Park, which according to her, was perfect since there is nothing similar in the area. The store offers a variety of healthy food options for active people, from the housewife, soccer mom, office worker to the bodybuilder; anyone who lives a busy lifestyle but still wants to eat well. They take the pain out of preparing meals; there is something here for every lifestyle. If you intend to lose, maintain or gain weight, there is a plan to suit your needs and can be modified individually for each person. The model that sets Clean Eatz apart from other meal prep companies is that they have a café, meal prep, grab and go, plus catering; all food is cooked and assembled on site. Currently, meals are picked up at the store location, but the plan for delivery is in the works and should be available within the next 30 days. Tracy also spoke of setting up satellite locations, such as gyms, health food stores, or day spas. Here are some of the Clean Eatz I sampled; This custom bowl was chocked full of goodness; bison, brown rice and a vegetable medley of fresh sweet corn, black beans, and green peppers served with a homemade lime dressing. Well rounded and filling, calory count is dependant on bowl size.

At Mr. Handyman, we’ve built this business with you in mind. At Mr. Handyman you’ll focus your time and energy on your current customer. The office staff manages the marketing, answers calls and qualifies leads, books jobs, schedules work and has the next jobs lined up.

This Honey Mustard Chicken Panini at 380 calories made with chicken, turkey bacon, onions, spinach, tomato with honey mustard dressing. This Panini was a customer meal, and they were kind enough to allow me to take this pic. According to them, the flavor is spot on, and a filling low calorie treat. Tracy fixed me up with a to-go dessert snack --decadent white chocolate coconut bars; a creamy, heavy coconut flavor hard to imagine as a healthy snack. I managed to devour them on the drive home; willpower is not one of my better qualities. So if you’re close to the Orange Park area and looking to improve your eating habits, stop in and say hi to Tracy, she is a powerhouse of a woman who not only talks the talk, she walks the walk.

STRAIGHT NO CHASER

Florida Theatre | Nov. 18 FloridaTheatre.com

Straight No Chaser aren’t so titled for nothing; they’re an a cappella group, meaning that there’s no instrumentation to their music - just the sound of their voices. Originally, there were ten members in the group, students who met at Indiana University - Steve Morgan, Jerome Collins, Dave Roberts, Dan Ponce, Randy Stine, Walter Chase, Mike Itkoff, Patrick Hachey, Kevin Carroll and Charlie Mechling. They took their name from ‘Straight, No Chaser’, the Thelonious Monk record from 1967. They made their debut at a 36 hour dance marathon - a baptism of fire, by anybody’s standards - and went on to attract national attention, performing at such venues as Wrigley Field in Chicago and Carnegie Hall in New York, the latter as part of a national tour of their own. In 1999, the original lineup graduated and were replaced, although they would go on to reform in 2006 - a little while afterwards, the collegiate group, still in existence, would change their name, although the alcohol theme was retained - they are now Another Round.

Martina McBride Nov. 24 @ Florida Theatre FloridaTheatre.com

Martina McBride is a country and pop musician from Nashville, Tennessee, US. Her soprano voice and her strong ballads have garnered her the name, “The Celine Dion of Country Music”. At an early age Martina McBride was introduced to country music through her father. She began listening to artists like Patsy Cline, Connie Smith, and Linda Ronstadt whose music greatly inspired her, and by the age of eight she was singing background vocals in her father’s band.

CATCHIN' A BUZZ Interview by Anna Eatz Jax

MICHAEL BLOOM Bartender

Sidecar Jax

What do you think sets your drinks apart from the others?

That’s a tough question; I don’t know that they are apart from other peoples. I pull from many people who have been doing this much longer than I have. I try and keep them simple for sure, use the least amount of ingredients as possible for what I am trying to think of, which is difficult with Tiki drinks. I like to stick with the Mescal or Rum in my head before I go to a Whisky or Gin.

If I asked you to make me a cocktail with no limitations, what pops into your head? Michael Bloom, aka @bartenderbloom, has been on my radar for quite some time. Michael is the guy you want behind the bar; he has a knack for reading his customers and is on point no matter what mood you find yourself, humorous, and serious all at the same time; oh and let me mention makes some killer craft cocktails. Ask for what you want, and Michael can make it happen. Currently, behind the bar at Sidecar Jax, one of Jax hidden gems this beer garden and cocktail lounge in the heart of San Marco should not be overlooked. I stopped in for a chat and of course one of his special bevies.

A Daiquiri all day, maybe without rum perhaps with mescal or any other sprit; it exists already in so many versions. If you don’t like a Daiquiri, I don’t know how much I can help you.

• 1oz. Stiggins Pineapple Rum • 1 oz. Aalborg Aquvit • ¾ oz. Lemon Juice • ½ oz. Strawberry Syrup • 1/2oz. Pineapple juice • Several dashes of Jamaican bitters • Dash of Peychaud’s Bitters

How many bartending jobs have you had? Where was your first job? The bulk of my jobs have been in Jacksonville. I did start in Chicago; it was nothing like this and not a craft cocktail bar. I was my first foray into bartending, with lots of frozen drinks, tap beer, wine and cocktails and things like that. When I moved to Jacksonville, I got a job at Black Sheep in 2012 where it trained under Kurt Rodgers and Matt Carson.

How long have you been ten tending bar? I have been tending bar for about ten years.

ON TAP

In the end, Michael did not make me the Daiquiri but crafted me a new cocktail that is still in the works thus no name. I will happily be a taste tester for this guy any day. This drink was nothing like I remembered “Tiki” drinks being. Sweet but not in that unsavory way many fruit drinks can be. I think the addition of the Aquavit with caraway as its dominant spice made the difference from sweet to savory. If you have not made it to Sidecar in San Marco, I highly recommend a visit.

As thoughts turn to the holidays, make sure your events calendar also includes craft beer events happening around the Jacksonville area throughout November. From two major beerfests to anniversaries and more, the end of the year will see it all around Jax! Get the month started with International Stout Day on Thursday, November 1. Find yourself a delicious local stout to treat your tastebuds. Generally featuring flavors of chocolate, many stout varieties are also treated with coffee, vanilla, cinnamon, lactose (milk sugar for sweetness), or dark fruits; or sometimes, a combination of those! Don’t let that dark color fool you, for the most part, stouts are not bitter or high in alcohol. But, if you’re looking for a bit more of a kick, try an Imperial Stout! Jacksonville PorchFest 2018 takes place on the front porches of homes in the Springfield area and at Klutho Park on Saturday, November 3. There is no entry charge. Over on the Jax Beach side, the annual Right Whale Festival happens at the Seawalk Pavilion, also on November 3. The event brings awareness to the endangered Right Whales which migrate through the area. Be sure to stop at Green Room Brewing for a stout while you’re there! The 12th Annual Brew at the Zoo returns on Friday night, November 9, at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. As happens each year, tickets sold out in September. For those lucky ticketholders, expect a wide array of food and beer vendors scattered throughout the Zoo grounds. The entry ticket includes samplings of food from a number of local restaurants, along with beverage and beer samplings from local, regional, and national breweries. Attendance typically tops 2500, making for one wild party! The event is a fundraiser for the zoo programs.

Main & Six Brewing, 1636 N. Main St., celebrates its one-year anniversary on Saturday, November 10. On last year’s Opening Day, the brewery introduced several house beers, including its Handsworth Brown Ale, which earned a Gold Medal at the Best Florida Beer Championships in Tampa in March. Coowner/Brewer Dennis Espinoza struck Gold again in July at the US Open Beer Championships. The brewery will offer special beer releases throughout the day. Salt and Pepper Gourmet Food Kitchen will be on site. The brewery has recently expanded its brewing operations with delivery of new brewing equipment. The Florida Brewers Guild hosts its 4th Annual Barrel-Aged, Sour & Cider Fest in the parking area at Intuition Ale Works on Saturday, November 10. This All-Florida brewery event features over 30 breweries. The name says it all. From barrel-aged stouts to sour beers of the tart and puckery variety to ciders, this unique fest brings beers of all colors and flavors. Proceeds benefit Florida Brewers Guild. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite. As November heads into December, one of the most anticipated annual beer release days across the nation is Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout, aged in four-year old Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. Local bottle shops will offer several varieties for sale on Black Friday. The 2018 variants as announced by Goose Island are: Original Bourbon County Brand Stout, Proprietor’s, Wheatwine, Vanilla Stout, Bramble Rye Stout, Coffee Barleywine, Midnight Orange Stout, and Reserve (aged in 12-year barrels). Not all varieties may be available in this area. While not a November event, it’s one to mark your calendars: Intuition Ale Works’ 8th Anniversary Music Fest, happens on Saturday, December 1. This year, the brewery is taking over the entire Doro District with an all-day music festival and party featuring non-stop live entertainment, along with beer releases, food and special merchandise. LIBRA (SEPTEMBER 23 – OCTOBER 22) That number you thought about calling or texting isn’t going to dial itself. You managed to get the number, what was the point of doing that? So you could walk around in a Boston accent annoying your friends saying, “How ‘bout them apples.” Call him or her already.

TAURUS (APRIL 20 – MAY 20) Things are getting a little dicey this month for you Taurus. Friends. Crushes. Everyone. If you are up for the challenge, then be ready to deal with the drama. Otherwise you may want to spend some time to yourself, maybe just watching a drama as opposing to being the star in one.

SCORPIO (OCTOBER 23 – NOVEMBER 21) I could go for a Cinnabon right about now. Couldn’t you? Mmmm. Anyways… work hard and things will be good or something. I can’t predict the future when all I can think about is eating a Cinnabon. And all that icing…

GEMINI (MAY 21 – JUNE 21) The signs are pointing to focus on the diversity of your friendships this month. Let me cut through the BS for you. You love life this month is nonexistent, so I recommend hanging out with your friends.

SAGITTARIUS (NOVEMBER 22 – DECEMBER 21) If you have a mate, you will be getting a lot of, “do you know what I’m thinking?” I and everyone else hate that question, but I’m use to it because I get it all the time (due to my fortune telling ability). For once actually tell them what’s on your mind, and see how often they don’t ask that question again.

CANCER (JUNE 22 – JULY 22) Love Venus is spending time this month in Scorpio, your passionate fifth house (passion apparently needs five houses). Go create some attention and enjoy the flirt storm. “Flirt storm” isn’t a real thing; I just made that up, but enjoy all the same.

CAPRICORN (DECEMBER 22 – JANUARY 19) Fireworks in the friendship department? Oh, I mean clean up on isle friendless. This is so destine for crash and burn, but you will forgo my warning and do it anyway. Friends should stay that way so you can talk about your mates behind their backs. Who you going to talk to now?

LEO (JULY 23 – AUGUST 22) Apparently no one can hold a candle to your hotness. At least someone is looking good this month. Since your “it” factor is off the charts this month, you would be crazy to not go out on the town and see what fun “it” can create. Can anyone tell me what “it” is?

AQUARIUS (JANUARY 20 – FEBRUARY 18) Did you know you had a tenth house of long term goals? If you didn’t its ok because yours is ugly right now. Don’t expect any long term relationships being created this month or lasting if you do have them. Hopefully you have some family to hang with for Thanksgiving because it won’t be a mate.

VIRGO (AUGUST 23 – SEPTEMBER 22) I just read another horoscope, and it said for Virgo to “sacrifice lunches to be more productive at work.” That is an interesting way of saying you need to lose weight. Why do they have to beat around the bush? Life is hard enough being chubby, but being called lazy also? That is too much.

PISCES (FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20) It’s becoming the holiday season, which is a lonely time for your love life Pisces. Well, shopping for just family can be fun too! And all those holiday romantic comedies you can enjoy with your mom. With the money you are saving, buy yourself a gift. Happy Holidays.
