The Arts & Music Scene Music & Theatre Experience engaging local performances and touring troupes virtually this spring and summer at venues large and small. The Blackfriars Playhouse at the renowned American Shakespeare Center in Staunton — the world’s only replica of Shakespeare’s original indoor theater — is currently streaming performances online, allowing you to be immersed while in the comfort of your own home. Smaller music venues like the Jefferson Theater, The Front Porch, Live Arts and The Southern Music Hall & Cafe have also temporarily transitioned into streaming live concerts and even classes online. However, other popular venues have had to cancel shows but still remain optimistic that we will be able to come together again soon. The venues that are currently closed, include: Four County Players in nearby Barboursville;

The Paramount Theater and the Sprint Pavilion on the Downtown Pedestrian Mall; John Paul Jones Arena on the University of Virginia’s campus; as well as performances put on by the Charlottesville Municipal Band, the Charlottesville Symphony, Victory Hall Opera and the Charlottesville Opera.
