Beginning its events only three years ago in Richmond, the Underground Kitchen (UGK) is a relatively new venture that has gained a tremendous amount of momentum and shows no signs of slowing down. Utilizing the talent of local chefs, the UGK holds themed pop-up dinners in different cities that are open to anyone lucky enough to grab a ticket from their website, where events are announced spontaneously. The brainchild behind this food-centric experience is Micheal Sparks, an international design and branding expert originally from New York City, who has worked with the likes of Louis Vuitton, FashionistaTea, the International Council of Fine Arts Deans, Virginia Commonwealth University and the Institute for Contemporary Art, to name a few.
