Vineyard Tours & Tastings Wine & Craft Events

T ours & T astings G uide

Getting out to experience the vineyards is easy, as all major roads are marked with the grape “Tours” signs, helping wine lovers find their way through the country roads. To make planning an outing easier, we have broken our area down into four quadrants, starting on page 28. Just look for the symbols to decipher what each stop offers! You can also plan a tour through the area with a local transportation company. When you stop by one of your favorite local venues this fall or winter, be sure to also ask any questions, as the winemakers, brewers and distillers, and tasting room staff, are eager to share what makes Virginia craft beverages special. While the vineyards, wineries, breweries, cideries and distilleries make for a great outing any time of the year, events and festivals are a popular reason to visit. Some exciting festivals coming up this fall and winter include: Fall Oyster Festival at Ducard Vineyards on September 28; Wine & Garlic Festival at Rebec Vineyards on October 12 & 13; Virginia Craft Spirits Roadshow at IX Art Park on November 16; among many others. Find more popular events in our calendar section on page 52. Visit for even more event dates, great listings and ideas.
