Welcome to Holy Nativity School’s Summer Program! This summer, students will be diving under the sea as they explore a variety of themed classes. It will be an exciting summer that your child won’t want to miss! In the summer program, students enjoy smaller classes and a more relaxed pace. Our program offers opportunities for children to explore interests and discover new talents while practicing basic foundational skills. The faculty and staff value your child’s individuality and work to foster self-esteem. We welcome new and old friends from other independent and public schools. Discover the possibilities at Holy Nativity School’s Summer Program! The Summer Program will be from June 16 through July 18. Dive into the summer with us as we journey under the sea! Our students will review concepts learned in Pre- K and will be introduced to some of the things they will learn in Kindergarten. We will be practicing our counting, sorting, and graphing while learning about the different sea creatures. The class will be writing daily, practicing their creative storytelling, and will be introduced to writing facts. Our summer students will also get to do exciting art projects, play drama games, sing songs and cook and prepare delicious dishes! Weekly P.E classes work on gross and fine motor skills and emphasize teamwork, all while learning new games and playing old favorites. As an aspiring mermaid herself, Miss Renee cannot wait to explore what the ocean has to offer, from the tide pools and coastal zones to the deep blue sea. Come make a splash with us!

Students will keep a hand written journal with daily reflections and sketches. Thanks to our wonderful campus technology, each student will be assigned an iPad to document our summer adventures in their digital portfolios. Weekly exploratory trips by foot and bus will allow us get hands-on with nature. Let’s take advantage of our lovely island by learning the basics of sketching ocean landscapes from live scenery. Through ocean themed art we will explore a variety of medias including drawing, painting, and ceramics. Get ready to dive into an ocean of new ideas and excitement! Although aprons are provided, please wear proper attire—some art processes can get messy!

*For the 3-5 year olds: Enjoy a delicious lunch and outdoor play followed by an hour nap time. The children will join the rest of the class with various activities. It doesn’t matter if your child is a wee minnow or a hammerhead shark, they will find that the afternoon program is fun for all! The children will spend their afternoons exploring what our oceans have to offer while creating art projects, cooking yummy treats and enjoying read-alouds. There will be activities differentiated for all age groups, and the older students really benefit from having younger buddies to teach. Learning will be disguised in the afternoon, so the students won’t even realize they are “working.” Come join us for five weeks full of fun under the sea!
