According to the CDC, tobacco use remains the single largest preventable cause of death and disease. Many employees feel stress from work or family expectations and use tobacco for coping. We do our best to make the process of becoming tobacco-free as easy as possible by using simple nicotine replacement gum and patches in a judgment-free environment. Appointments can be in done in groups or individually and are concise and FREE! Tobacco cessation sessions take place at the Indiana Memorial Union, room M005, or at the Health Center. Our biofeedback program is a psychoeducational stress management program, using both computerized biofeedback processes and behavioral interventions to reduce participant stress. Skills learned include visualization, breathing exercises, progressive relaxation, managing resources, and life scripting, among others. Participants learn more about their body’s response to stress through monitoring heart rate variability and building selfawareness.
