Giulio Ferrari had a dream: he wanted to produce a sparkling wine in the mountainside of Trentino that was right up there with the French champagnes. At the beginning of the 20th century Ferrari was the first producer to introduce chardonnay grapes to Italy. His challenge was to satisfy the most demanding palates with each and every bottle that carried his surname printed on the label. Little by little, the winery grew and grew and Mr Ferrari’s dream became a reality. However, the wine grower was also getting old and he ended up choosing Bruno Lunelli as his successor (among many other contenders). Marcello, Matteo, Camilla and Alessandro are the four Lunelli offspring who continue to run the business to this day. Wine critics have showered Ferrari’s work with awards throughout the decades; just recently the company was chosen as the Best Sparkling Wine Producer in the Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Competition 2015 and the Best European Winery Award at the Wine Star Awards organised by ‘Wine Enthusiast’ magazine. ESP. Giulio Ferrari tuvo un sueño. Quería producir un vino espumoso en las laderas del Trentino que nada tuviera que envidiarle a los champanes franceses. Estamos a principios del siglo XX cuando Ferrari es el primer productor en introducir la uva chardonnay en Italia. Su reto era conseguir que cada una de las botellas de espumoso que llevara impreso su apellido satisficiera hasta a los paladares más exigentes. Poco a poco, la bodega fue creciendo y el sueño de Ferrari haciéndose realidad. Pero el viticultor fue envejeciendo y, ante la necesidad de un sucesor, acabó eligiendo al enólogo Bruno Lunelli entre muchos pretendientes. Marcello, Matteo, Camilla y Alessandro. Así se llaman los cuatro Lunelli que siguen al frente de un negocio que ha traspasado fronteras desde hace unas cuantas décadas. La empresa de la familia Lunelli fue elegida en 2015 como la Mejor Productora de Espumoso en el Campeonato Mundial de Champán y Vino Espumoso y la Mejor Bodega Europea por en los Wine Star Awards que organiza Wine Enthusiast.
