Aroma Stefano Procopio MANAGER OF AROMA // Director de Aroma Aroma is a cosmopolitan Italian restaurant that breaks with the usual Formentera cuisine and the traditional pasta and pizza dishes served by other restaurants. ÏuMag catches up with owner Stefano Procopio: What is the idea behind the name Aroma? It is a play on words. The first meaning is obvious but the second can be read as ‘A Roma’ (‘In Rome’ in Italian), given that our first restaurant is located in the Collina Fleming neighbourhood in the north of the Italian capital. How did the restaurant in Formentera come about? I have been coming to the island on holiday for many years and then the opportunity to open a restaurant came about.

Aroma es un restaurante italiano cosmopolita que rompe con la estética habitual de Formentera y los tradicionales platos de pasta y pizza de otros restaurantes. Ïu habla con su propietario Stefano Procopio: ¿Qué significa su nombre Aroma? Es un juego de palabras con doble significado, el primero es obvio y el segundo se lee “A Roma” (“en Roma” en Italiano) ya que nuestro primer restaurante está situado en la zona de Collina Fleming al norte de la capital romana. ¿Por qué te decidiste a abrir otro restaurante en Formentera? Llevo muchísimos años viniendo a la isla de vacaciones y surgió la oportunidad de abrir otro restaurante aquí.

HOW TO GET THERE? / ¿CÓMO LLEGAR? If you are staying over for the night the best way to get there is by ferry. HOW TO GET AROUND? / ¿CÓMO MOVERSE? A fun way to move around the island is on a quad. Due to the bad state of most of the paths, a quad provides you with easy access to certain beaches and more isolated spots. However, access is forbidden to all quads in Illetes beach, given that the area is part of the natural park. You can rent quads from most of the car rental
companies on the island. / ESP una forma divertida de moverse por la isla es alquilando un quad. Debido al estado de la mayoría de los caminos de la isla, el quad te proporciona facilidad de acceso a ciertas playas y otros lugares más recónditos. Sin embargo, su acceso está prohibido en la playa de Illetes ya que ésta es parte de un parque natural protegido. Puedes alquilar quads en casi todos las empresas de alquiler de la isla.
