the year of

2013 integrity elegance innovation mastery success

Looking back at 2013 , it's easy to say that it was a great year. We grew sales by adding more impressive brands as clients, renewing our existing clients and delivering well enough to earn a respectable profit. Overall, we performed much better as a team in 2013 than in any previous year. But most important, we continue to create inspiring solutions for our clients that make them and us proud. But this success didn't happen overnight, or without tremendous effort. Many of the decisions we made in 2012 and in previous years set us up for success this year. Many changes in the way we do things took time to take effect. And our entire team worked hard this year to produce the results you'll see in this book. Flip through and find the projects in which you participated, but also take a look at some of the other things our team accomplished in 2013 . I'm sure you'll be impressed with both the volume and the variety. I'm really proud to be a part of the ITX team, and I hope you share that pride.

OUR MISSION We deliver technology that solves challenging problems so that our clients can move, touch, and inspire the world.

6

move touch inspire

What do we mean by “move, touch, and inspire”? It’s what our clients do that makes us proud to be supporting them. It’s what we get to brag about because we help to make it happen.

Keeping our focus on our clients’ customers. By keeping our focus on our clients’ customers, we make ourselves invaluable to the fulfillment of our clients’ missions, and ultimately to the satisfaction of our clients’ customers. The bottom line is that when our clients’ customers are happy, our clients are, in turn, happy with us.

Building strong relationships. We do this by building strong relationships and by conducting ourselves in accordance with our values. These values are what have made us successful in the past and what we look for in new team members and clients.

itx yearbook / 2013

OUR VALUES Honor our word Find a simpler way Purposefully experiment Deliver a powerful performance Thrive together

8

Our values serve as a roadmap.

thrive together

Our values serve as a roadmap for our actions and express how we interact with our clients and each other. Our values are what set us apart. They are the underlying criteria for all of our actions and decisions. They are the points of reference we use to choose and align our objectives and our team, and we’re the most successful when our clients also appreciate and embrace them as their own. It’s not enough to agree on their importance, or say how much we like them, we need to be cause in the matter of making them part of our reality.

It’s all about workability. Our values are neither better or worse than others per se. They either work or they don’t. Out of a virtually infinite possibility of combinations, these are the ones that we have historically found to work best for us, our team and our clients, because, after all, it’s all about workability.

itx yearbook / 2013

9

OUR VISION We seek to inspire people into action. A billion times. Coupled with our mission, this means we create experiences to inspire people into actions that are consistent with the goals of our clients.

10

Inspiration goes beyond the rational.

inspire into action

Inspiration is about believing in something we can’t always see, at least not right away. In a way, when we have a complex problem to solve, it requires a kind of leap of faith because we don’t know exactly how we are going to solve it. But our commitment to integrity, faith in our mastery, desire for elegance, drive to innovate, and hunger for success all lead us to an answer that inspires.

Inspiration is the highest form of reaching someone else. It is a cause for action, and doesn’t stop simply enabling someone to do something. Inspiration results in someone actually doing it and feeling joy. We create the opportunity for inspiration by delivering technology that solves our clients’ challenging problems.

What is an inspiration? It can take many forms. It could be a parent being inspired to join an online school community. It could be someone motivated to give money to a charity or to cure a disease. It could be a scholar sharing research online, accelerating the pace of scientific advancement. It could be as simple as someone inspired to talk (or tweet) about a great experience they had. The ultimate inspiration desired by most organizations is a referral from an existing customer.

itx yearbook / 2013

Why is this important to us? Inspiring people is the core of our work. It’s our way of being part of something bigger than ourselves, a way of being connected to many, many people in the world. If the people we inspire feel joy in the experiences we create, they will talk about it to others. And if they talk about it, it gives meaning to what we do and it motivates us even more to reach this goal again tomorrow. How do you move, touch, and inspire the world?

Diamond Packaging is a full service packaging provider that focuses on continuous improvement to exceed its customers' expectations. This company turned to ITX to improve its existing website. Diamond Packaging wanted to have its website reflect a more elegant design that would showcase the quality packaging work they do for high profile clients such as Proctor and Gamble, L’Oreal, Godiva, and Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics. It was also imperative to Diamond Packaging that the design, case studies and imagery reflect the highest level of quality to remain ahead of the competition.

ITX included additional options for thumbnails throughout the website in order to display high quality images in all browsers for the viewer. Diamond Packaging’s updated website has had nothing but positive reviews from its customers. Volvo, a customer of Ardent Learning, needed to update its Need2Know platform, which arms Volvo salespeople with information about various car models. The original Need2Know site was created seven years ago using Adobe Flash technology, which is no longer supported on major mobile devices. ITX presented the idea of a fully

responsive site that would not only provide an outstanding experience on mobile devices, but would also adapt to any device on which it was accessed. Together, Ardent Learning, Volvo and ITX agreed that creating a responsive website for the Need2Know platform would put its users, Volvo salespeople, first.

14

The Need2Know site included advanced user tracking capabilities and showcased a custom comparison tool. The tracker allows Volvo executives to see specific pages dealerships are viewing and the vehicles for which they are searching. The comparison tool allows users to evaluate car specifications and prices on Volvo vehicles in relation to competitor models. ITX enabled Ardent Learning to meet Volvo’s needs. The Need2Know site presents Volvo’s product information elegantly on desktop, tablet and mobile platforms.

In August 2012, the School of Nursing at the University of Rochester came to ITX for help building a web-based application for a new strategic directive regarding its various health intervention programs. Without a clear understanding of how the technology needed to perform, this organization looked to ITX to facilitate the development of a strategic roadmap with technology insights into what was possible. We conducted our One Day Strategy Workshop to help align the leadership at the University and set a vision and strategy for this technology. The workshop workshop helped align the vision and strategy for this technology need. The University of Rochester engaged ITX to design and develop the suite of applications focused on preventative healthcare.

16

The YourHeath application includes a dynamic survey for University employees to complete. The survey gathers information in order to provide recommendations about how to maintain a healthier lifestyle. The University of Rochester wanted to create this to reduce healthcare costs through early interventions and preventative care. The University’s philosophy is to arm its employees with useful information about how to have a healthier lifestyle. As a result, employees will proactively use this information to better their health. The University of Rochester is so pleased with this application that it is preparing to provide this offering to other organizations.

In addition to the YourHealth application, we have worked with the University of Rochester on its Healthy Living Center website. ITX designed and developed a website that physicians can direct their patients to learn more about their specific medical problems.

The University of Rochester is a member of the ITX family and we are excited to continue developing exciting new technologies with this organization. We have the opportunity to introduce some best practices and new technologies, while the University pushes us to be a better technology partner.

The University of Rochester is thrilled with the successes of its projects and excited to accomplish even more on its long wish list of technology initiatives. We are confident that the University’s upcoming technology project will prove to be another valuable resource for its constituents. itx yearbook / 2013

Adobe ColdFusion, Mura CMS In 2000 , ITX began its now 13 -year-andcounting relationship with the Social Science Research Network (SSRN ). SSRN is devoted to the rapid distribution of scholarly research in the social sciences and humanities fields. Our partnership started with SSRN due to its need for a new technology partner that valued client diversity. The company wanted to hire a team that could solve any technology problem, even if it meant gathering outside resources when an issue was beyond its means. This drove SSRN to ITX . ITX and SSRN started this long-lasting relationship by holding what has now developed into our strategy workshop offering. SSRN was the first company to partake in this workshop and has helped it grow into what it is today. ITX ’s One Day Strategy Workshop develops strategic technology plans customized for each business and results in various agreed-upon action items.

As a result of this workshop, SSRN confirmed that its first initiative with ITX would be solving website performance 36

issues. Our main objective was to decrease the time it would take to download scholarly papers. Because of the volume of concurrent visitors, SSRN’s site was slow to retrieve the requested information. ITX solved this problem by spreading its data onto various servers. Today, SSRN’s content lives on 14 different servers. However, from this initial implementation of development work, the SSRN site went from getting 30,000 to 80,000 downloads a week. Today, users request more than 1 million downloads a month. Due to the amount of SSRN projects, ITX has an entire delivery team dedicated to this organization. Our team ensures SSRN is using the most recent technology available to improve and enhance its software. When installing new or upgrading existing technology, ITX makes certain that it does not interfere with the sites existing functionality, which eliminates user experience interruptions.

Our latest project with SSRN was creating a mobile application through which users can share articles with fellow researchers anywhere, anytime. Together, ITX and SSRN have created a relationship that stands true to the definition of a partnership. Our main goal is to help SSRN improve, maintain and develop a concrete technology strategy. SSRN has also helped ITX improve our processes by introducing us to new delivery methodologies. When ITX began delivering based on a modular approach, SSRN introduced us to a modularity expert. This individual guided and advised us on itx yearbook / 2013

various techniques that we still use today. SSRN also introduced ITX to tools such as Mission Control and the Leadership Course, which was co-created by Michael Jensen, that enhance company culture and leadership skills among team members. Over the last decade, SSRN has grown with technology to meet the demands of its users. With ITX ’s help, SSRN creates an optimal experience for its users and has grown to be a leader in its industry. This new eCommerce site implemented an easier to use cart including an architecture that allows fewer clicks between description and purchase and ability for donors to make donations in amounts of their choice.

technologies

DNN 5, CartViper

When creating an eCommerce website, there are a few essentials to consider. Among them, the site must be easy to find and the layout must allow customers to quickly and efficiently purchase products. This specific eCommerce site is focused towards selling various camps and classes that the Rochester Museum and Science Center (RMSC ) provide. RMSC is an organization that stimulates broad community interest and understanding of science and technology, and their impact—past, present, future—on our lives. When first analyzing the RMSC eCommerce website, ITX noticed that it took too many clicks to land on the desired page. Therefore, ITX's first task was to restructure the architecture of the site to make it easier to navigate. 44

After restructuring, ITX worked on creating a platform through which RMSC supporters can donate money to the organization. RMSC required that its donors have the ability to name the dollar amount they wish to contribute without picking up the phone. Our team worked with CartViper to find a solution that allows supporters to choose the amount they would like to contribute at any time. The site’s new features will reduce RMSC ’s workload and increase its

ability to obtain registration forms, payment for camps and classes and donations online. In addition to these successes, this project eliminated the need for intermediary pages and user experience improved overall.

Finger Lakes Radiology’s responsive website allows for users to have a quality experience when visiting the site regardless of the device it is being viewed on. This change helped increase local market share by showcasing its high quality medical services.

Finger Lakes Radiology decided that it was time for its website to reflect the state-of-the-art medical imaging technology services it provides. The company asked ITX to create a site with an engaging design. Also, Finger Lakes Radiology wanted a site that would give more control over altering content and providing a user-friendly appearance on various devices. After some guidance from ITX, Finger Lakes Radiology chose to implement a responsive design website.

With a responsive design, the content must be entered in a specific manner to increase SEO and to have it display properly on all devices. ITX ensured that Finger Lakes Radiology was properly trained on this process so that it would receive optimal results for its investment, gain greater visibility within the industry, and differentiate its brand with the technology services provided. Finger Lakes Radiology is extremely happy with its new responsive website and are excited to showcase the way it is able to deliver premier diagnostic imaging services.

ITX developed and implemented a parallax website design for a unique user experience that is equipped with a CMS for easy content management.

Roberts Communications needed ITX to develop the parallax website design it created for Health Integrated. Health Integrated is a company that enables, empowers and encourages the most vulnerable health plan members to better care for their own health. Since parallax is a new design technology, our team jumped at the chance to master a new technique. Parallax design refers to a scrolling method that creates a unique user experience with one continuous scroll, initiated by various click patterns. It was crucial for Health Integrated to understand where its users were traveling throughout the site. itx yearbook / 2013

In order to track various click patterns, ITX integrated SkyGlue. By leveraging SkyGlue, Heath Integrated is now able to view and influence the various click paths its viewers take. Roberts Communications provided us with strict design guidelines. It was our job to build what Roberts Communications promised Heath Integrated. As a result, we produced a parallax website with custom modules that fit Health Integrated's needs. Roberts Communications, and most importantly Health Integrated, were extremely pleased with the results. Our team is looking forward to the next opportunity to employ a parallax design. 49

In order to accommodate 5,000 concurrent users, the site required much greater processing power. To solve the problem, we created two servers with 100GB of data that would allow EY to accommodate its Bank of America clients. ITX met EY ’s demanding deadline

analytics, strategy and marketing technology solutions to its clients, including FMC Corporation, one of the world’s leading specialty chemical companies. Its chemistries are helping to grow the world’s food, enabling new innovations in pharmaceutical delivery, enhancing foods and beverages, contributing to a more sustainable energy supply, facilitating the remediation of our environment, and advancing the manufacture of hundreds of essential products. FMC wanted a more accessible portal to enable its top retailers to find various resources including being able to quickly contact an FMC technician. Together, SIGMA and FMC decided that creating a mobile platform would best suit the demands of its users.

52

ITX created a mobile application for FMC that incorporated all of the content from the company’s website. In order to accommodate this request, we integrated the mobile app and website’s content management system (CMS ) so that FMC could make admin updates from one location and have the change applied to the content of both the website and the app.

Star retailers are customers who buy FMC ’s products in bulk and either keep the purchased products for themselves or sell the merchandise to other farmers. This app provides these retailers with a direct route to interact with FMC technicians. This is made possible by a location feature in the app that assigns an FMC technician to a retailer based on their specific geographic location. Therefore, when a retailer may need assistance they can call or email an FMC technician.

One of the largest advantages the app offers to FMC’s clients is a retailer incentive calculator. The tool calculates the quantity of chemicals clients purchase from FMC throughout the year and rewards them based on that amount. The app gives dynamic information directly to the retailer and provides a seamless experience.

ITX used the agile methodology to promote tight interactions throughout the development cycle. SIGMA and FMC are proud to exceed the end users expectations and will continue to invest in technology to promote an ideal customer experience.

In order to market Rochester, NY as a shopping destination, Wilmorite wanted to create the Wilmorite Rochester Malls Blog to share the latest fashion trends hitting Western New York. Previously, Wilmorite had four different blogs to represent each retail location in Rochester, NY. Ultimately, having separate blogs for individual locations forced visitors to reference four different websites in order to gain access to similar information.

56

Additionally, maintaining each blog with current content was a challenge. In hopes to resolve these issues, Wilmorite asked ITX to combine its four individual mall blogs into a combined destination for all things fashion-related. The ITX team created a platform with a design that appeals to many different types of shoppers. This shopping blog has something for everyone - fasionistas and casual shoppers can both check out the latest trends and obtain ideas to inspire their personal style.

This included facts and figures about retirement plan balances, check stubs, employee time off, flexible spending accounts and health benefits. After a successful workshop, Paychex enlisted various companies to design and develop functionality within the application. The quality of the prototypes were reviewed, and ITX was brought on to help create a platform where all customer-facing applications would be available in a mobile setting. Since this initial project, ITX ’s partnership with Paychex has flourished. Together, we have determined that the best way to

review deliverables is by taking an agile approach. Agile software development promotes the evolution of a project through collaboration between cross-functional teams. The ITX and Paychex teams come together every two weeks and review what has been developed, what needs to be altered, and how we need to progress in the following two weeks. On September 24, 2013 , the third version of this app was released, which adds the ability for customers to manage payroll from the convenience of their mobile devices. The third version also included a full redesign that enhances overall user experience. Paychex has seen many successes with its mobile application and does not want to stop investing in technology. To add to the overall mobile user experience, Paychex is considering the idea of creating and implementing a tablet application.

While Paychex is focused on the future, ITX stands behind this company’s

current and upcoming strategic decisions and would be excited to take on this opportunity, as well. Paychex and ITX recognize that this partnership has thrived due to the strategy workshops that helped identify the mission, goals, and priorities for this technology. As a result, Paychex has asked ITX to aid in consulting various aspects of its business.

Paychex has driven us to grow, challenged us to expand our technological knowledge and helped us perfect the quality of our deliverables. In an October 3, 2013 article in the Rochester Business Journal, Paychex President and CEO , Martin Mucci, stated, “Our investments in market-leading software-as-a-service technology and mobile applications position us for long-term growth. Furthermore, client satisfaction and client retention continued at record levels.” ITX is proud to be a part of this success and looks forward to continuing the partnership in the future.

ITX GIVES BACK

60

Philanthropy is an important effort for ITX . Throughout 2013 , ITX gave back to the community through many local and national organizations. ITX helped these organizations gain the technology they need to improve the experience they provide to their constituents. We’re committed to enabling organizations to build awareness for their cause, to influence community members to volunteer, and to inspire donors to give and we’ve spent hundreds of hours this year doing just that. ITX is fortunate to be a global company and is dedicated to providing our community with technology to move, touch, and inspire the world.

Inspiration X Project Many companies match their employees’ charitable contributions. In a similar spirit, in 2013, ITX launched a one-of-akind giving program called the Inspiration X Project. This project provides ITX team members the opportunity to leverage ITX talent to fulfill technology projects for organizations that are important to them. ITX grants each chosen Inspiration X

project with a donation that can be used to elevate the results of the project. In 2013 , three projects were chosen and ITX is excited to make a difference for organizations around the world.

The Rochester Area Business Ethics Foundation (RABEF ) provides a host of resources to promote ethical business practices. After realizing that its current website was no longer easy to manage because of its outdated content management system (CMS ), RABEF decided to implement a new site. Often, we can simply update the current CMS to the newest version, but in this case, the CMS was so outdated that it was more cost effective to install a new CMS .

62

After RABEF solidified a design with an outside agency, it was up to the ITX team to deliver a functional site. The previous website was built on DNN 4 , but the organization wanted its new site to be built on the latest version, DNN 7. RABEF ’s new website provides users with enhanced features and employees with a streamlined, yet sophisticated, administration tool. The organization is excited that the website ITX implemented will play a vital role in carrying on its mission of promoting ethical business practices.

The issue of website usability and maintenance was solved for Greater Rochester Enterprise after the upgrade of its CMS .

DNN 7

Greater Rochester Enterprise (GRE ) turned to ITX looking to revamp its existing website. However, ITX ’s approach to this website overhaul was to not only make the site more aesthetically pleasing to the user, but also to make the site more workable for GRE to maintain. A once-crowded homepage, filled with dropdowns, tabs and boxes, was transformed into an orderly and easy to navigate page after the implementation of a mega menu. This menu also allows for a better overall user experience and contains modules that GRE can edit at will. This feature ensures that GRE can provide the most current information to its users.

GRE also had an issue with the

previous website’s content management system (CMS), which was aging, hard to maintain and increasingly difficult to use. With the move to DNN, GRE now has a clean, concise CMS and extensive documentation that makes for a smoother editing process. Additionally, ITX installed the Data Spring Dynamic Forms module to enable GRE to build forms in an easy and interactive way to allow users to sign up for newsletters and contact Greater Rochester Enterprise. GRE is excited to see its investment elevate the interest businesses may have in coming to the Rochester area.

This responsive website design gives NCMEC a platform that they are proud to drive constituents towards, which entices donations and sponsorships from community supporters.

The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC ) and ITX began a collaborative project in which ITX would design and develop a responsive website to contribute to a great cause. The NCMEC project required a quick turnaround for the organization’s upcoming DISH IT OUT event. ITX ’s strategy created a responsive design using DNN 7 to complete this project in one month. The DISH IT OUT site exists to promote NCMEC and drive sponsorship and donations. Without a site that reflected a viable organization and notable event, engaging the highest level of sponsorship proved challenging. itx yearbook / 2013

The site’s previous iteration was not something the NCMEC team was proud to encourage people to visit. The new site not only provides the professionalism to encourage sponsorship and offers a better platform to promote the sponsors themselves. With better tools to inform and promote sponsors and donors, NCMEC is in a better position to achieve or surpass its fundraising goals. ITX is proud of the work we did for NCMEC . We were able to deliver an

amazing result and give a remarkable organization a better platform on which to fundraise for its worthwhile cause.
