pikken (p. 10–11), Galtadalen, Gursli mines with

hiking area. The hike is a roundtrip where the goal is the shelter

with a view of the meteorite crater at Ritland. Roundtrip: approx. 6- km/approx. 2 hours return. Season: March–November. VII/C4

Sirdalsheiene

The moors of Sirdal offer short day trips but also longer hikes in the highlands. Some nice hikes include Degdammen, Hilleknuten, Kvinen og Gamlevegen in Finsnesbakkane.

In the steep mountain walls at Rullestadjuvet, you can see

in ­diameter. Glacial potholes are round caves in the mountain

made by water, ice and stones in the last ice age. The potholes

are close to E134; however, you cannot see them from the road. To ­experience them closely, you must follow the marked road ­Postvegen from Skromme. VII/C2

Setesdal and Ryfylkeheiane nature reserve (SVR)

Norway’s second largest nature reserve with

fantastic hiking possible along the DNT hiking

routes and cabins. SVR starts in south from Evje and Tonstad to Haukeli and Røldal in north.

The plant and animal life are varied, and the

landscape itself is versatile. You find the hydro power reserve Blåsjø here. VII/D3-E3
