Alice Springs, via the Donohue and Plenty Highways is approximately 800km west. The road is predominantly gravel, however, does have stretches of bitumen. It is the most direct route to Alice Springs from Western Queensland. This section of road is part of the Outback Way which spans from Winton in Queensland across to Laverton in Western Australia.
