Daily Lifestyle changes to adapt to retain good eyesight We have grown up hearing 'health is wealth'. But, most of us didn't consider eye health in this one, did we? Eyes are the most delicate and sensitive organ of our body but what do we really do to take its care? Be it the hustling days of our lives or the leisure ones, we tend to take our eyesight for granted without actually doing anything for it. Here are some regular lifestyle changes that you can adopt for good eye health. 1. Start by getting regular eye checkups No matter if you have a number on your eyes or not, it is always advisable to consult an eye doctor at some intervals to ensure that your eyesight is decent. The people who have power tend to wear the same numbered glasses for a long time without actually having frequent eye checkups. This is definitely wrong and you must go for regular eye examinations. 2. Quit the habit of smoking The people who are frequent smokers tend to get weaker eyesight along with a lot of eye problems in their lifetime. Smoking increases chances for a lot of eye diseases like diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, dry eye syndrome, and age-related macular degeneration. Now you know that smoking isn't only related to hampering the internal organs. 3. Follow the 20-20-20 rule This is a very popular rule that everyone who uses laptops, phones, and other digital screens use should follow. The rule says that do not see constantly at the digital screens for more than 20 minutes. After every 20 minutes take a break for 20 seconds to see an object that is 20 feet away. Then get back to work. This will disturb the eye focus and keep them healthy. 4. Wear sunglasses Sunglass is definitely a fashion accessory but it is an important fashion item to always use when you are out in the sunlight. The constant feeding of the harmful UV rays of the sun into the eyes isn't healthy for them. So, protect your eyes from the ultraviolet rays by wearing glasses regularly. 5. Eat more healthy food Just like the other body parts, there are certain food items good for our eye health too. All the food items that are rich in Vitamin C like oranges, papayas, kiwis, strawberries are great for the vision strength. Also, a carrot is the best vegetable to have regularly to improve your eyesight. Carrots can be the most beneficial to strengthen the vision with constant hogging on it.

6. Precautions with the digital screens Try to reduce the time you spent in front of the digital screens. If you cannot do that at least maintain a decent distance from the screens throughout. Always keep the laptops and the phones a few inches below your eyes so that your eyes aren't directly looking into the blue rays emitted from these screens. Also, you can wear blue rays glasses throughout to block the blue rays. 7. Check every sign that your eye is giving Even if you are feeling the slightest of the discomfort in your eyes be it rashes, itching, irritation, redness, or anything do not take it lightly.
