BEYOND INDIA

BHUTAN High in the Himalayas, the tiny kingdom of Bhutan sits on the roof of the world. Jungle-filled valleys give way to flowered alpine meadows and snow-capped peaks. MONKS, MOUNTAINS AND MONASTERIES Celebrate the world’s last untouched Shangri-la with this stunning trip around Bhutan. Starting at Delhi, whisk around the old and new city before taking the journey up into the Himalayas. Visit the mountainous monasteries and gaze at the most breathtaking alpine views in the world. FESTIVALS Full of colour and celebration, October, November, February and March are our favourite times to visit this Himalayan gem of a country. A visit during these months will coincide with the famous Tsechu festivals. These colourful and exciting festivals feature dance and feasting, and are annual events that occur in different months depending on the temple.

BUMTHANG We have the ideal holiday for adventurous romantics in Bhutan. The Bumthang region covers the central Bhutan valleys of Chumey, Choekhar, Tang and Ura. It’s a magical landscape of rhododendrons, temples and monasteries. It’s a beautiful place to explore together.

WE RECOMMEND Visit Bhutan’s largest dzong, Jakar. The beautiful dzong looks out over the Chokhor valley and is still an open monastery. The stunning Wangdicholing Palace was the home of the first kings of Bhutan and now is used as a monastic school. It’s still a beautiful visit in the valley. Explore the sacred site of Kurje Lhakang, the final resting place of the first three kings of Bhutan. Trekking makes Bumthang magical, but why walk when you can cycle? We can arrange a cycling tour through the valleys, and then to other beautiful spots in the land of the Thunder Dragon.
