CAF: CONFERENCE ON INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT OF LATIN AMERICA

During 2018, the Conference has taken place both in April in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and in July in Madrid, Spain. In the first Conference, authorities of local and national governments, representatives of international organizations and the private sector, the academy and media, discussed challenges facing the infrastructure sector in Latin America and shared good practices related to six main topics, including the use of big data for planning and infrastructure management. During the second Conference, the Ministers of Economy, Finance and Planning, representatives of the private sector and experts from Latin America and Spain analyzed opportunities for Latin American integration through infrastructure development and the logistic corridors approach, as well as challenges and opportunities for financing priority projects and investment programs for a regional integration agenda.

PARAGUAYAN CADASTER MODERNIZES AND LAUNCHES ELECTRONIC RECORDS
National Cadastral Service of Paraguay
The National Cadastral Service (NCS) online-service implementation process has been undertaken in three phases as from June 2018: 1) the instant provision of real estate data and tax assessment reports, in most cases; 2) the issuance of Cadastral Certificates that are now approximately 80% of the services provided by this institution; and 3) the promotion and presentation of graphic services. In the framework of the "National Cadastral Service Modernization" project, financed by a non-reimbursable loan from the CAF — Development Bank of Latin America—, the consultancy for assistance, advice and implementation of the Electronic File for Reengineering Processes, the Institutional Strategic Plan, and the Change Management, were undertaken. 6TH REGIONAL PLATFORM FOR DISASTER RISK REDUCTION IN THE AMERICAS
Having geographic data for risk knowledge is relevant to promoting resilient investments
The event took place on June 20-22, 2018 in Cartagena, Colombia. It was an opportunity for governments, the private sector, civil society and other actors in the region to exchanging experiences regarding implementation of the Regional Action Plan agreed upon in March 2017 in Montreal, Canada, as a guide for application of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 in the Americas.
