How to Transfer Programs and Files to A New Windows Computer


Question • I bought a new computer but I want to use the programs and files in the old computer. How can I transfer them to the new computer and make sure they can work normally?


Preparations  Prepare an SSD or HDD. You can not directly transfer programs and files to a new computer unless an external SSD comes to help.  Manage the programs and files. If it is in different partitions, it is better to separate the SSD/HDD with the same number partition.  Make the SSD/HDD data backup in advance. Because the if you make something by mistake, it will cause the data loss.


Way 1: Manually transfer them to SSD 1. 2.

Copy and paste the files and programs from computer to SSD. Use Ctrl + A, Ctrl + C and Ctrl + V key combinations to copy the programs and files.

But ‌.. Those copied programs may not work probably when the new SSD is installed on the computer. So it is not the safe way to transfer them to the new computer.


Way 2: Quickly transfer data from hard drive to SSD with CloneGo Option 1: Use the Copy feature to Clone the data

Step-1:  Install and open CloneGo  Click Copy  Go to the middle part to add the partition where stores your target data as the source target.  Choose the destination partition of your SSD where you want to transfer files data to.
