For over a quarter of a century The Darwin Entertainment Centre has been at the forefront of keeping Top End residents and visitors entertained. In 2012 my team at The Centre have put together a year that will give you a laugh, give the chance to singalong, give you something to think about and might even see a tear or two shed. We have some of Australia’s biggest names coming to visit, sometimes for the first time, but all will prove why they are much loved stars. This program lays out many of the highlights we have in 2012 and gives you the chance to book early to guarantee the best seats or prevent missing out altogether. This program is a guide for you all year long and then perhaps be a keepsake and a reminder of some of the good times you enjoyed at The Centre. An Evening with Marina Prior Beloved siren of the stage Marina Prior, has performed over twenty leading roles in her career. An Evening with Silvie Paladino Silvie Paladino has one of the greatest female voices in Australia. Let the Sunshine Australian television legend, Peter Phelps stars in Award winning Australian playwright David Williamson’s satirical comedy Let the Sunshine. Set in Noosa, this hilarious new production, tells the story of two couples. Toby and Ros, retired left wing radicals flee to the upmarket Sunshine Coast seaside town to escape scandal in Sydney. Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow Stuffing one of the world’s largest comedy festivals into the one show is no easy feat, but the Melbourne International Comedy Festival has done just that with Roadshow 2012. Offering a selection of Australian, and international comedians, the Roadshow is literally all the best bits of the Comedy Festival condensed into the one ‘all killer, no filler’ travelling event. Michael Kieran Harvey in Performance Acclaimed pianist Michael Kieran Harvey joins Darwin Symphony Orchestra to perform Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Featuring guest conductor Stephen Pevely, the second concert in the Symphony in the City series includes works by Beethoven and Stravinsky. Currently Adjunct Professor at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, Harvey has received several awards as a pianist including the Australian Government’s Centenary Medal in 2002 and the 2009 APRA award for Distinguished Services to Australian Music. An accomplished composer, his homage to Zappa 48 Fugues For Frank was premiered at Mona Foma 2010 and received the AMC Tasmanian state award for composition in 2011. Messa di Gloria with Rosario La Spina Award-winning tenor Rosario La Spina returns to Darwin to join Darwin Symphony Orchestra and Darwin Chorale in a performance of Puccini’s Messa di Gloria. Please read the conditions of sale and performance details (date, time & venue) carefully prior to finalising your booking, as no refund or exchange can be offered on tickets purchased online. We’ll hold your tickets at the Box Office for collection on the night of the performance. The credit card used to purchase the tickets, as well as relevant concession cards, must be shown by the cardholder when collecting tickets. Bookings paid for over the telephone and online incur a service fee of $2.95 per transaction. Bookings made in person will not attract a service fee. GST and booking fees, if applicable, are included in the cost of all tickets. Occasionally, when tickets are sold from ticketing agencies outside of the Box Office, you may be charged an agency fee.

Please be at the theatre at least 20 minutes prior to the start time, as latecomers may not be admitted to the venue until a suitable break in the program. Bar facilities open one hour prior to the start of the performance and doors to the Studio and Playhouse usually open 15-20 minutes prior to the performance start time.

We want to make your theatre experience as enjoyable as possible, so our disabled facilities include wheelchair access to both theatres and reserved seating for patrons with special requirements. Limited free parking is available on the street near The Centre from 5pm MonFri and 2pm Saturday and Sundays. Darwin City Council metered charges apply at other times. There is a public car park underneath The Centre, which has a standard fee of $7 a time.
