The New Hampshire Motorcyclist Rights Organization (NHMRO) was founded in 1975 to fight the freedoms that were being systematically taken away. NHMRO was incorporated as a non-profit organization, under the laws of the state of New Hampshire, and the internal revenue tax codes. Our sole purpose is to protect the rights of ALL motorcyclists to choose how they ride and to maintain and preserve their freedoms as riders.

A huge thank you to all that came out for the Toy Run! I also want to thank all of our sponsors, the road guards, the State Police, Concord Police and Manchester Police for their part in this event. It was a much better day weatherwise, and we had a decent turn out, even with all of the other things going on. I realize that it seems that each year there are fewer bikes, well many years ago there were not as many events, charity rides and bike fests as there are now. Our Toy Run has been on the second Sunday of September for a very long time now and we will make the best of whatever turnout we get. Life changes and things in our world have changed, so we are thankful to all of you who continue to support this event and make it successful! I also want to make it clear that the toys and money you donate do not go to a thrift store and get resold. The process for the families to qualify to get the toys is a couple of months. This is a good cause and really helps needy families that struggle. Kids without Christmas is just wrong. So again, THANK YOU for being part of this event!
I am looking forward to seeing all of you this month at our first meeting back after the summer. Our October meeting is slated for October 20th as I will be away the 13th which would have been the date. Please look for your card in the mail early October.
We continue to rise in fatalities, and I am just not sure how long this trend can happen before we get push back. I hope that we will not see any motorcycle legislation that affects us negatively, but I just do not know. The crashes are up as well and I just want to make sure ya’ll understand that more often than not in these crashes and fatalities, it is US doing the harm not other vehicles. That does not mean that we are not getting hit by other vehicles, it’s just that we can’t lay blame on them for all of it, because we are doing it to ourselves. The Task Force is currently working on next year’s NH Rides Day in May and we are talking about a Sunday instead of Saturday. Details will come over the next few months.
Our new Vice President has had to step down due to personal reasons. The Board voted to have Rick Daynard step back in until we take nominations and vote for next year. I want to personally thank Rick for always being there for NHMRO and myself! This man has been such a great asset to us. If you know anyone who might like to be nominated, please let me know so that perhaps we can talk with them before we get into that process.

Well another NHMRO Toy Run is in the books, and we had a perfect day for it this year. Some 218 bikes went on the escorted ride from Concord to Manchester, and helped to make some kids Christmases great.
So many folks made this year’s run a success, way too many to list individually. But to all of our sponsors, the NH State Police and all the local departments, Comcast, and of course our Toy Run Director Betty Rock, thank you for a great run!! It’s always fun to see the folks along our route wave and cheer, and to throw some candy to the kids. The Salvation Army does a great job getting us fed when we get to Comcast, and getting those presents out to the kids… Our first meeting back will be October 20th, and we’ll have a lot of new information to share with the membership, including an update on this year’s “Meeting of the Minds”. And as always, we’d love to see some new folks step forward and volunteer to help!!
If you have something you’d like shared on our social media, please send that to our FACEBOOK page and we’ll share it. If you’d like an event flyer in the September newsletter, please send it to the newsletter GMAIL account posted below. Flyers in JPG format!!
Fall Riding season is here…watch out for the leaves, keep the rubber side down and stay safe out there!!!
Where in the WORLD is the purple haired motorcycle lady??????
Our President doesn’t just preside over our meetings, she attends events and meetings all over our state and country representing NHMRO. Rumor has it that Traci went all the way to the North Pole for this picture, but we all know this was really taken at this years NHMRO Toy Run!!!
Look for more interesting facts on NHMRO in upcoming issues!!
That there used to be a group of people who liked to roam the hills and valleys of this great land
They liked to ride with the wind in their faces and the sun on their back
They loved the outdoors, and they had a special sense of freedom
They wore leather and had a clothing style all their own
They often had long hair, and some wore rings in their ears
They liked to gather together and share brotherhood
They were divided into many tribes each with their own leader
They were never able to unify all the tribes and clans
These people were Indians
Now here we are again and have been for a long time with a group of people who like to roam the hills and valleys of America
They like to ride with the wind in their face and sun on their back
They love the outdoors and have a special sense of freedom
They wear leather and have a style all their own
They often have long hair and some have rings in their ears
They like to gather and share brotherhood
They are divided into many clubs, clans and associations of their own
They are not able to or willing to unify all the clubs, clans and associations THESE ARE BIKERS
Government continues to try and pass laws that keep restricting our rights and freedoms, just like they did with the Indians. We will either end up on a BIKER RESERVATION or we will cease to exist, if WE DO NOT STAND UP FOR OURSELVES!
This was not written by me, but certainly hits home!
The 42nd ANNUAL Joanne Packard Memorial Toy Run was held on Sunday September 8th, and we had a great turnout! We had a beautiful day to make the ride from the Department of Motor Vehicles In Concord down to the Comcast Building in Manchester.
