Compliance - Overview  Medicine: Willingness to follow a prescribed course of treatment  It is not just about the doctor telling the patient what to do  In a complex world to establish rules/principles does not suffice  See for example in sports – Rules on the pitch  We need referees, suspension… – Rules off the pitch - Olympic Charter  Reality?


Compliance - Overview  Compliance with a law, treaty or standard - doing what you are required or expected to do.  Structures and procedures needed to ensure individuals – Know what they are expected to do – Behave accordingly

 Thus companies and other entities organize the way their employees, suppliers and others work – Risk management – Prevention

Compliance - Olympic Example  A high proportion of RSPCA Freedom Food chicken and pork has also been used in menus for many London 2012 venues (e.g. Athlete's Village and the Media Centre), but not for all, so the logo does not appear in this panel.
