Social housing projects are a very important field in Brazil, due to its essen al character . The great challenge of architecture is to make those few square meters suitable for each kind of family , a place livable and comfortable. Even with the proposed minimum shelter, the ‘Social Container’ project seeks to cost and space op miza on through the use of containers, which is cheap and abundant raw material in the country. There are two separate proposals: the single-family dwellings (houses), earthen and always ranging between two and 4 containers, and mul family housing (apartment building), which may have 3 or 4 floors and also pillars, that make the adapta on to rough terrains possible (since they are prevalent in the country).
