Sustaintability Temple

Isadora Monteiro Cleiton Reis Érica Figueira Laura Leão Prof Antônio Colchete Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

The «temple ac vity» was proposed with the aim of arousing a conceptual process design, with few technical requirements and flexible program. The name "Temple" was used in the sense of "place of contempla on" and the theme, sustainability, was chosen for its enormous relevance and meliness. The main design reference was the Brazilian ar st Hélio Oi cica, who used the concept of sustainability in their works even before the term was widely spread. The place chosen for the installa on was the Favela da Rocinha, the largest slum in Brazil, where the reuse of materials and fully dynamic aesthe cs reflect the principle of sustainability itself.

Primary Health Care Unit

Isadora Monteiro Thiara Garcia Prof Gustavo Abdalla Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

The project for the primary health care unit transfers the principles of the Brazilian unified health system to the architectural design: universality, integrality and fairness. In this way, quality spaces were thought both for pa ents and for doctors and staff. The goal is, through the built environment, ensure that all persons involved have their need met of egalitarian way. The crea on of flexible spaces is enabled by the use of metallic structure in corten steel. The U-shaped arrangement on the ground also reserves the central space to a green area which can be used for rest and also as a space for extension of the mee ng room. All environments have unique ligh ng and cross ven la on guaranteed by the use of shu ers or cobogós.

Social Housing

Isadora Monteiro Ana Luiza Delgado Tomáz Guimarães Prof Fabricio Fontenelle Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora

Social housing projects are a very important field in Brazil, due to its essen al character . The great challenge of architecture is to make those few square meters suitable for each kind of family , a place livable and comfortable. Even with the proposed minimum shelter, the ‘Social Container’ project seeks to cost and space op miza on through the use of containers, which is cheap and abundant raw material in the country. There are two separate proposals: the single-family dwellings (houses), earthen and always ranging between two and 4 containers, and mul family housing (apartment building), which may have 3 or 4 floors and also pillars, that make the adapta on to rough terrains possible (since they are prevalent in the country).
