The book “Health Surveillance in South America: epidemiological, sanitary and environmental” is the second published by ISAGS and provides an extensive overview of health surveillance in the region. The publication consists of presentation, prologue, introduction and ten chapters, organized into two parts. The first part of the book presents the major current issues related to health surveillance systems in South America. The second part is devoted to the reporting of innovative experiences, the challenges for health surveillance systems in the region and reflections for the conformation of a strategic agenda.
