BRISKEBY KULTURSTASJON The site takes up large parts of the Hartvig Nissen High School school yard. Our goal was to give back as much as possible to the existing school, both in area and spacial quality. By linking the remaining school yard area to a new roof terrace oriented to the South, and placing the building partly onto the unfrequently used one way street “President Harbitz’ gate”, the net area loss is only 100m2, Dagens normale bysnitt

despite the new building having a footprint of 950m2. The school yard, previously segregated by the one-way parking street, now integrated, protected and shaped as two enclosed outdoor spaces stimulating slowing down and hanging out.
The proposed culture and music school utilizes the sites different heights to provide full wheelchair accessability to all levels and rooms, while maintaining a natural position on the site. Located right next to the changing rooms and auditorium storage, the system of ramps and stairs outside the main entrance functions as an additional auditorium for outdoor concerts.

The buildings organization separates the circlulation of the artists, students and visiting audience, making for an easy and uncluttered everyday operation. The “Rock workshop” in the back of the building can be locked off from the rest of the building, making it possible to have it open, despite being after hours/weekends.

Ved å løfte jernbanen, får Lierstranda tillgang til en ny by og gjennoprettet kontakten med fjorden. Lierstranda har fått en egen identitet, sammtidig som den er en fortsettelse av Drammen by. Drammen har fått en ny bydel og tyngdepunkt for den nye totalbyen ligger i knutepunktet på Brakerøya.

The original Lierstranda - once a thriving industrial community on the outskirts of Drammen, now a run down suburb cut off from the waterfront, Drammen and Lier valley by E18 and the railway. The masterplan “DERAILED”, provides the premisses for UNITIZE, where the raised (or lowered) railway, creates a possibility for reintegration of the old Lierstranda, with the waterfront and the planned fjord city expansion of Drammen. Immediate proximity to a planned infrastructure hub encourages development of the area, which inevitably will occur. Raising the urban qualities of old Lierstranda now, will improve the odds of a successfull realization of the fjord city, which also can’t be built before rental contracts expire in the coming decades. There is no reason not to begin development now, preparing the area and the first development lots of the fjord city for a higher urban quality in the building period.
Old Lierstranda is a natural place to start immediate development, and commence the process of creating what might very well become one of the greatest urban areas in Norway.
A new food market, located in the new heart of Old Lierstranda, a high rise apartment building, a new school and transformation of a parking lot into a football field, revitalizes the area and increases the urban quality. Improved surrounding for a good urban life, and regional visual and social impacts, encourages visiting and thereby improving the reputation of the area - before the first development phases are built in the fjord city. The tower has a public roof terrace, with grand views over Lierstranda, the fjord, Drammen and up the Lier valley, that becomes a place to go and makes old Lierstranda an integrated and equal part of the coming fjord city.
PUNKTURBANISERING AV OSLO VEST

Prosjektet er foreløpig i en tidlig designfase, der resultatene fra en måned lang programmeringsfase danner grunnlaget for videre arbeid, utforming og prosjektering av boliger i Oslo. Programmeringsfasen resulterte i en 70 sider lang rapport med analyser, resonnementer, tanker og konklusjoner om hvordan man på et
utradisjonelt og kvalitetsbevisst vis kan møte befolkningsveksten i Oslo med gode boliger, gode og bærekraftige bomiljø, og for et variert utvalg av befolkningen. Oppgaven er basert på en faglig og objektiv men respektfull og ømfintlig - tilnærming til markagrensen, hvorfor den ligger der den ligger, hva det er vi faktisk verner og bevarer, og
om det er mulig å bryte grensen uten å forringe de betydelige og åpenbare kvalitetene marka representerer. Mine analyser konkluderer i at dette er mulig - noen få steder, noe som skal vises gjennom videre prosjektering i det pågående semesteret.
