WHAT IS AN INDUSTRY CERTIFICATION? Industry certification is an evaluation process assessing individuals through an independent, certifying entity. By using predetermined standards for knowledge and skills, this results in the awarding of a nationally recognized credential for an occupation in the workforce system’s list. These typically fulfill a critical need, fulfill an emerging need or address a local need. STATEWIDE ARTICULATION AGREEMENTS (GOLD STANDARD AGREEMENTS) Gold Standard Industry Certification Articulation Agreements (Gold Standard Agreements) are maintained by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE) as a means for students to receive college credit for successfully earning a nationally recognized industry certification* that aligns with an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degree. The intent is to guarantee the award of a minimum number of college credits for students entering an A.A.S. or A.S. program of study for which the Gold Standard Agreement is approved.
