Pre Event Pack | Singapore 2017
IR On the Road May 10-12, 2017 Marina Bay Sands Hotel, Singapore
Message from the MD DEAR MEMBERS We look forward to returning to Asia and welcoming you in the fantastic city of Singapore in May 2017. This meeting is part of our ‘On the Road’ series which follows successful events in San Francisco, Brussels, Miami, Dubai and Shanghai. We feel this is an exciting opportunity for members to learn about interesting trends coming out of one of the world’s leading financial centres. Furthermore there will be a strong emphasis on inbound and outbound opportunities throughout the whole of Asia and will therefore be a must attend event for any member with clients or indeed anyone who wishes to develop business in the region. As usual tickets are limited, as the ‘On the Road’ events really focus on relationship development and providing quality time for attendees to connect and learn about each others practices. Please therefore be sure to confirm your interest and ticket ASAP to avoid being disappointed (all IR events have now been sold out for the last 3 years). In addition, the mid year event has a much greater focus on the social program than the annual conference and some of the activities included are; an outdoor opening drinks reception with tremendous views of the city, networking dinner at the one of the finest restaurants, a day excursion (TBA) and plenty of time for members to meet for private dinners before and after the conference. Typically such events have members from around 40 plus jurisdictions. We hope to see you there.

Singapore Though physically small, Singapore is an economic giant. It has been Southeast Asia’s most modern city for over a century. The city blends Malay, Chinese, Arab, Indian and English cultures and religions. Its unique ethnic tapestry affords visitors a wide array of sightseeing and culinary opportunities from which to choose. A full calendar of traditional festivals and holidays celebrated throughout the year adds to its cultural
Singapore’s progress over the past three decades has been remarkable, yet the island has not been overwhelmed by development. Visitors will discover a wealth of historical treasures from the past, in the beauty of older buildings, values and traditions that have survived in the face of profound social and geographical change Forming the core of downtown Singapore is the Colonial District. Each surrounding enclave has its own distinct flavor, from the aromatic spice stores of Little India, to the tumbledown backstreets of Chinatown, where it is still possible to find calligraphers and fortune tellers, or the Arab Quarter, whose cluttered stores sell fine cloths and silks.
