WE HAVE LEARNT...

1. HALLOWEEN ACTIVITIES. We have an American teacher in the school. She is from South Carolina, USA.

She comes to our classrooms to read us stories, play games and tell us information about her country. She told us many things about Halloween: how people dress up and why, what trick or treat is and why people do it, she also taught us how to make a Jacko-Lantern and explained to us why people make them. She also told us a story and taught us songs.

Classroom and school decoration. Before Halloween Day, we decorated our classrooms and the corridor with many items related to Halloween. All of these items were built by the children with recycled materials. They made them in the school with the teacher's help and at home with their parents. ACTIVITIES AT HOME: The Ghost Windsock. (Halloween decoration that floats upon the breeze) We give to the parents the instructions and then, some of them were creative and add some accessories to the ghosts. Materials: − Plastic cup or paperboard from the toilet paper. − Black permanent marker.

− Tape or glue. − Toilet paper.

Instructions: − Decorate the plastic cup or the paperboard from the toilet paper with ghostly eyes and a horrific mouth. − Cut long strips from the toilet paper and paste one end inside the cup. − Be creative!

ACTIVITIES IN THE SCHOOL: In the classroom the children made up bats, spiders and owls with recycled materials. Also, the English teacher made a Jack-o-lantern.

BATS

SPIDERS

We used: Egg cartons, circle and triangle stickers, black paint, black yarn, paintbrushes and scissors. 1. Separate 3 cups from an egg carton. 2. Cut out part of the bottoms of the 2 outside cups to resemble bat wings. 3. Paint the bat with black paint 4. Paste the circles as eyes and the triangles as teeth. 5. Hang it from a string.

1. Separate one cup from an egg carton.

2. Paint the spider with black paint. 3. Cut 6 pieces of yarn as legs and paste them. 4. Paste circles or triangles as eyes. 5. Hang it from a string.

OWLS: We used: brown continuous paper, plastic plates, yellow cardboard, black paint and paintbrushes. 1. Make a rectangular bag with the continuous paper. 2. Draw one circle in each plate and color it with black marker. 3. Staple the plates at the top of the rectangular bag as eyes. 4. Draw a triangle on the yellow cardboard, cut it and paste it between the plates, as the peak. 5. With the black paint, draw the wings and draw horizontal lines as feathers. 6. Fill the owls with the paper, cardboard, etc. from the paper bin.

This s how we made them and the final results:
